Singer Kid Rock surprised Fox News host Jesse Watters during an on-air interview on October 23 when he revealed an unexpected and controversial Halloween costume choice that left the host momentarily speechless before breaking into laughter.

The exchange took place on Jesse Watters Primetime, where the musician joined the program to discuss the political climate, his views on pop culture, and his upcoming projects.

What began as a typical lighthearted discussion quickly took an unexpected turn when the topic of Halloween came up.

As the conversation shifted, Kid Rock asked Watters about his own costume plans.

“So my whole family is doing Scooby-Doo. My son’s going to be Scooby-Doo,” Watters replied, describing his family’s coordinated theme for the holiday.

After elaborating on his own role in the family costume lineup, the Fox News host added, “I’m Shaggy,” to which Kid Rock responded with amusement.

Watters continued, saying, “So, I’m gonna kind of dress like you — big, baggy clothes, I got long hair — just gonna have a little flask while I walk around…” prompting laughter from the musician.

Kid Rock then changed the tone of the segment entirely.

Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a face mask, casually put it on, and said, “Guess what I’m gonna be — guess what I’m gonna be?”

Watters tried to guess, asking, “Fauci?” referencing former federal health official Dr. Anthony Fauci, who became a frequent topic of discussion during the pandemic. Before the host could make any further guesses, Kid Rock delivered his answer.

“A retard! A retard …” the singer declared, laughing.

Watters appeared caught off guard by the statement and paused briefly before responding.

“Okay. I guess you can be anything,” he said while trying to continue the segment through laughter.

Kid Rock then added, “Greatest costume ever!”

The brief exchange ended with Watters responding, “All right, Kid, I’ll see you out there — trick or treat!” before moving on to close out the segment.

This may be the single funniest moment in the history of live TV.

The moment quickly spread on social media platforms and entertainment outlets, with clips of the exchange circulating widely among viewers.

The interview drew a range of reactions online, as fans and commentators weighed in on the rock musician’s remarks and the unexpected turn of the segment.

Kid Rock, known for his outspoken and unpredictable public appearances, has frequently drawn attention for his blunt style and commentary.

The October 23 interview was part of his latest media appearances coinciding with recent tour promotions and interviews discussing his support for President Donald Trump and his ongoing criticism of establishment politics and mainstream media coverage.

The interview marked Kid Rock’s second appearance on Watters’ program in recent months.

His previous visit in August included a discussion about the music industry, political polarization, and his belief that artists should be free to speak openly about their views without censorship or backlash.

The exchange added to the musician’s history of headline-making moments during television interviews, blending humor and controversy in ways that continue to attract public attention and online debate.
