Texas authorities have arrested the man suspected in the fatal shooting of actor Jonathan Joss, best known for voicing John Redcorn on the animated series King of the Hill, as reported by The New York Post.

The suspect, identified as Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, was taken into custody on Sunday, June 1, at approximately 7:05 p.m., according to online booking records.

Alvarez Ceja has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held on $200,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for August.

The shooting occurred Sunday following what police say was an altercation between Joss and Alvarez Ceja, who lived two doors away. According to law enforcement, Alvarez Ceja allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot Joss multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in progress, but by the time emergency personnel arrived, Joss was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect was arrested a block away from the location of the incident. Authorities are still investigating the motive, but neighbors reported to TMZ that the two men had a long-standing history of disputes that had previously escalated into verbal and physical confrontations.

Joss, 59, had returned to his residence on the day of the incident to collect a victim’s fire relief check. The property had been destroyed by fire in February.

Neighbors said Joss had reportedly used a barbecue pit to heat his home after his power was shut off, leading to the blaze that ultimately killed three of his dogs.

On Sunday, Joss allegedly discovered the remains of one of the dogs, which witnesses claim triggered a visibly emotional reaction.

Witnesses said Joss became agitated and began shouting at individuals in the area, including Alvarez Ceja.

According to multiple neighbors, Joss’ behavior in recent months had drawn police attention, including reports of loud and erratic actions such as banging pots and pans from his rooftop during the night.

The residence had previously been deemed uninhabitable, and a GoFundMe page created earlier this year raised $10,721 to help Joss recover. The fundraising page noted the home had been built by Joss’ father for his mother in 1957.

Jonathan Joss, a voice actor in “King Of The Hill” series, was shot and killed at his San Antonio property over the weekend. Months before his death, Joss lost two dogs and his home in a fire in January.
