Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem criticized the creators of South Park after a recent episode depicted her as a heavily Botoxed ICE agent, calling the portrayal “lazy” and “petty,” as reported by The New York Post.

Speaking on The Glenn Beck Podcast on Thursday, Noem, 53, addressed the animated show’s characterization of her, saying:

“It never ends, but it’s so lazy to constantly make fun of women for how they look. It’s always the liberals and the extremists who do that. If they wanted to criticize my job, go ahead and do that, but clearly they can’t, they just pick something petty like that.”

Noem acknowledged she had not watched the episode herself, noting she had been occupied with government work. “I was going over budget numbers and stuff,” she said, dismissing the cartoon’s relevance.

In the episode, Noem was portrayed as a glammed-up Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer with exaggerated features, arresting Hispanic individuals and harming animals — a caricature critics have labeled as offensive and detached from reality.

The South Park episode aired one day after the Department of Homeland Security posted an image from the show to promote ICE’s current recruitment drive.

The agency used the publicity to highlight the importance of border enforcement efforts and encourage qualified individuals to apply.

“We want to thank ‘South Park’ for drawing attention to ICE law enforcement recruitment: We are calling on patriotic Americans to help us remove murderers, gang members, pedophiles, and other violent criminals from our country,” a DHS statement read.

According to the department, new ICE recruits can qualify for an up to $50,000 signing bonus, student loan forgiveness, and retirement benefits.

The controversy follows a broader pattern of recent South Park episodes that have taken aim at the Trump administration, prompting the White House to dismiss the show as “irrelevant” and accuse the creators of seeking attention through political mockery.

Noem, who was appointed Homeland Security Secretary earlier this year, has consistently maintained a hardline approach to immigration enforcement and has been vocal in defending ICE agents from public attacks and media portrayals.

The episode targeting Noem is part of a series of recent South Park segments focused on political figures and immigration policy.

The show’s depiction has sparked both criticism and support, with many pointing out what they view as double standards in how public officials are portrayed based on political affiliation.

The Department of Homeland Security has not issued additional comments regarding the episode since the initial statement.
