The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) have stated they have no knowledge of any legal action being taken against Bianca Censori, the wife of rapper Kanye West, following her nearly nude appearance at the Grammy Awards on Sunday.
According to reports, representatives from both the DA’s office and the LAPD informed Newsweek on Monday that they had not heard of any legal consequences for Censori’s appearance at the awards ceremony.
West attended the event with Censori, who was clad in a sheer, see-through dress without underwear, exposing her nude body in public.

The incident has raised questions regarding California’s indecent exposure laws, which define the act as occurring when a person “exposes his or her naked body or genitals in front of anyone who could be annoyed or offended by it.”
For a violation of this law to occur, authorities would need to prove that a person “intentionally exposes their genitals or naked body,” does so in a manner that could offend others, intends to attract attention to themselves, and has the intent to either sexually gratify themselves or offend another person.
Legal analyst and former federal prosecutor Neama Rahmani weighed in on the controversy, telling Newsweek that Censori “has gone too far.”
He further stated, “I hope the Los Angeles City Attorney does her job and files misdemeanor charges.”
Rahmani explained that simply being topless is not considered a violation of California’s indecent exposure laws, as protections exist for breastfeeding women.
However, he argued that Censori’s outfit crossed a legal boundary. “But exposing her anus and genitalia crosses the line to criminal,” Rahmani said, also noting that West “can also be prosecuted under California Penal Code Section 314(2) if he assisted Censori and her indecent exposure.”
It remains unclear whether West and Censori were asked to leave the Grammy Awards following the incident.
Conflicting reports have surfaced, with some sources claiming that police escorted the couple out of the event, while others state they were never asked to leave and had only arrived to make an appearance on the red carpet before departing.
Neither authorities nor Grammy officials have confirmed these accounts, and representatives for West have not commented on the situation.
The couple’s appearance at the awards show quickly became a trending topic on social media, sparking widespread speculation about their motives and relationship dynamics.
Some online users suggested that West and Censori may be engaging in public “humiliation” or “exhibitionism” as part of a fetish, while others accused West of controlling or manipulating his wife.
Despite the controversy, there has been no official confirmation of any criminal investigation or legal action against Censori or West.
The incident has nevertheless fueled ongoing debate about decency laws, public nudity, and the boundaries of artistic expression in high-profile events.
