Following a disappointing performance in the 2024 elections, Democrats and their media allies have quickly shifted focus to the 2028 presidential race, speculating on who might emerge as the party’s next nominee.
Among the names being floated are former Vice President Kamala Harris, California Governor Gavin Newsom, former Biden administration Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who was the party’s unsuccessful vice-presidential nominee in 2024.
While it remains to be seen which candidate will gain traction, Walz has drawn particular attention—though not always for the reasons he may have hoped.

His attempts to present himself as relatable have often fallen flat, reinforcing the perception that many Democrat politicians are out of touch with the concerns of everyday Americans.
Recently, Walz made headlines for taking a swipe at Tesla and its CEO, Elon Musk.
Walz admitted that watching Tesla’s stock price drop gave him “a little bit of a boost during the day.”

Musk quickly fired back, pointing out that what really boosted his spirits was seeing Vice President JD Vance’s portrait displayed in the White House rather than Tim Walz’s.

However, the response did not stop there.
During a press briefing on Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked about Walz’s remarks and did not hold back.
“Tim Walz—Gov. Walz saying last night he frequently checks Tesla’s stock and doing so to ‘give me a little boost throughout the day,’” a reporter stated.
“How should Americans view politicians who take pride in the downfall of an American car company?”
Leavitt responded directly, criticizing Walz’s comments.
“I think it’s quite sad,” she said.
“But I think that Gov. Walz unfortunately is living a sad existence after his devastating defeat on November 5th.”
Karoline Leavitt just clowned on Tim Walz for saying he finds “JOY” when Tesla’s stock dips

Walz’s defeat in the 2024 election marked a significant blow to Democrats, who had invested heavily in a strategy of legal challenges against President Donald Trump.
Despite years of attempts to undermine Trump’s campaign and presidency, the election results showed a decisive rejection of those efforts by the American people.
As Democrats regroup and look ahead to 2028, Walz’s prospects for a future presidential run remain uncertain.
If he were to secure the nomination, he would likely have to face Vice President JD Vance, the same opponent who bested him in 2024.
With four more years of experience on the national stage, Vance would likely be an even stronger challenger, making a potential rematch a steep uphill battle for Walz.
While Walz and other Democrats speculate about their future, the political landscape has shifted, and the results of the 2024 election have reshaped the party’s strategy moving forward.
Whether Walz will continue to position himself as a major player remains to be seen, but his recent remarks—and the responses they have provoked—suggest that he may have a difficult road ahead.
