The recent arrest of one of the top three MS-13 gang members in Virginia marks a significant victory for law enforcement, according to the Trump administration.
The arrest, which took place in a coordinated operation involving the Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Prince William County Police Department, Virginia State Police, and other local law enforcement agencies, has been hailed as a key step toward ensuring a safer America.
FBI Director Kash Patel described the arrest as a “massive victory” in the ongoing effort to combat gang violence and protect communities across the nation.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt appeared on Fox and Friends on Thursday to emphasize the importance of the arrest, noting that it highlights the success of competent federal leadership under President Trump.
Leavitt criticized the previous administration for its lack of action and contrasted it with the progress made under Trump’s leadership.
“This is what happens when you have competent federal leadership at the top,” Leavitt said.
“We’ve been used to having nothing done for so long under Joe Biden, but now the action Trump is bringing is a wonderful thing.”

Leavitt pointed out that the Trump administration’s efforts were focused not just on cleaning up the mess left by Biden but also on addressing the issues that had been ignored under Democratic leadership.
She noted that the arrest took place just 30 miles outside Washington, D.C., in an area where many of the politicians and media members who have long criticized Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration and violent crime reside.
“They should be grateful that monsters like this are no longer going to be living in their communities,” Leavitt said, referring to the MS-13 gang member’s arrest.
Leavitt also took aim at what she called “activist judges,” who, in her view, stand in the way of the administration’s efforts to remove dangerous individuals from the country.
She expressed concern about the challenges posed by these judges, who she argued are working against the deportation of individuals who pose a threat to the American people.
“Think about how insane it is that we have a Democrat Party, and we have Democrat activists who are judges in our judicial branch, who are fighting against this administration from deporting these heinous individuals,” Leavitt said.
“If we have a country where the president of the United States, where the commander in chief, cannot deport foreign terrorists and illegal aliens, the American people are in a lot of trouble.”
Despite the obstacles posed by these judges, Leavitt vowed that the administration would continue to fight in the courts and carry out the mass deportation campaign that President Trump had promised during his time in office.
Leavitt also highlighted the broader impact of the arrest, pointing out that it sent a strong message not only to the American public but to the rest of the world.
She emphasized that criminals are less likely to enter the U.S. if they know that they could face tough penalties and deportation.
“Criminals aren’t going to come knowing they might possibly end up in a tough prison in El Salvador,” Leavitt remarked.
Additionally, she pointed to the dramatic drop in illegal border crossings under Trump’s leadership as evidence that the administration’s policies are effective.
“It just proves that everybody who said we needed a border bill was wrong,” she said.
“We just needed a president who actually wanted to enforce our nation’s immigration.”
The arrest of the MS-13 leader was celebrated by the panel, with many agreeing that it demonstrated the success of Trump’s approach to immigration and crime.
Leavitt’s remarks underscored a key theme of the Trump administration’s policy – a commitment to taking decisive action against illegal immigration and criminal gangs, regardless of political opposition.
Leavitt concluded by noting that the arrest was a clear example of how effective the Trump administration’s policies had been and how the Biden-Harris administration’s lack of action had created a dangerous environment.
“Bingo. That’s the bottom line, and the Biden team was just trying to gaslight the American people so they could avoid taking appropriate action to deal with the huge problem,” she said.
“Fortunately, the American people understood that and rejected the Biden team in November.”
Even as the Biden-Harris administration continues to face criticism for its immigration policies, the arrest stands as a clear reminder of the stark differences between the two approaches.
