A leftist group announced plans to protest a Christian singer’s event at the same Seattle, Washington, location where violence broke out during similar gatherings in May.
The Seattle Palestine Action Network intends to gather protesters and camp out the night before the August 30 event hosted by singer and songwriter Sean Feucht and “greet the fascists bright and early” once it takes place, the activist group said in an Instagram post. Protesters previously crashed a Christian concert at the same park in May, leading to alleged assaults, several arrests and an FBI investigation. “Another hate pastor, sean feucht, is planning on coming to the heart of the queer community in Seattle on August 30th to spew anti-queer and trans rhetoric,” the post reads. Seattle Palestine Action Network invited viewers to attend a potluck and sleepover the day prior and “disrupt the fascists before they even start!”
The Daily Caller News Foundation could not identify specific personnel from Seattle Palestine Action Network, and the group did not respond to a request for comment sent via Instagram.
Feucht is a self-described missionary, activist, author and musician working to spark a Christian revival around the country and titled the Seattle event, “Revive in 25,” his website says. He has met with both President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and declared his support for the president before the November elections, his social media posts show.
Feucht’s team did not respond to a request for comment from the DCNF.
Black-clothed, Antifa-style protesters disrupted a gathering in Cal Anderson Park in May hosted by the conservative Christian group Mayday USA — and another by the same group in Seattle days earlier. Footage from both incidents showed scenes such as a leftist mob surrounding a woman with a baby to shout at her and block her from leaving the premises.
Democratic Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell blamed the Christians at the time, calling the first event a “far-right rally” meant to “provoke a reaction by promoting beliefs that are inherently opposed to our city’s values, in the heart of Seattle’s most prominent LGBTQ+ neighborhood.”
The violence in May prompted the FBI to investigate, with Deputy Director Dan Bongino posting on X that “freedom of religion isn’t a suggestion.”
The FBI’s national press office, the agency’s Seattle field office and Harrell’s office did not respond to the DCNF’s requests for comment.
Cal Anderson Park is in the same neighborhood where Black Lives Matter rioters created the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” (CHAZ), a police-free area that saw multiple shootings after city officials ceded control to anarchists for several days. Former Democratic Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan directed police to disperse the zone after roughly three weeks of the chaos.
