Conservative commentator Dinesh D’Souza hosted longtime political operative Roger Stone on his podcast this week to discuss what Stone described as an “expanding scandal” surrounding New York Attorney General Letitia James.

The allegations, which span mortgage fraud, false residency claims, and campaign finance irregularities, are now raising questions about James’ legal standing and eligibility to hold office.

“Let’s talk a little bit about Letitia James in particular, and the Letitia James scandal,” D’Souza said during the interview.

“What is the nature of the scandal and what can be done about it?”

Stone responded, “Yeah, this is, this is a, an expanding scandal. Even as we speak, you remember Letitia James? She was, she’s the Attorney General of New York. She’s the person who said no one is above the law. She’s absolutely right about that, unfortunately for her, that includes her.”

Stone laid out a series of allegations related to mortgage applications James reportedly submitted over the years.

According to Stone, James falsely claimed that her father was her husband in order to qualify for a mortgage when she was 24.

“She used his balance sheet and his financials to qualify for the mortgage,” Stone said.

“On the mortgage, you can see that they list them as father and probably as man and wife, but on the title, they are accurately listed as father and daughter. That’s mortgage fraud.”

Stone also referenced James’ application for a federal Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) loan, which is limited to investment properties with no more than four units.

“She applied saying that her unit only had four—her investment property only had four units—but in fact, it has five,” Stone stated.

Additionally, Stone alleged that James may have violated New York’s residency requirements for holding office.

“She signed a document, a sworn document, in which she obtained a mortgage for a property in Virginia, and she said, as a condition of the mortgage, that that would become her principal home, a principal resident within 60 days,” Stone explained.

“If that’s true, it’s long past 60 days, she would be ineligible to be the Attorney General of New York if she lives in Virginia.”

Stone noted that under New York State law, declaring residency in another state would automatically vacate the Office of Attorney General.

“There isn’t even a hearing,” he said.

“So either she’s ineligible or she lied on this form in order to obtain a favorable mortgage rate. Either way, it’s a serious federal crime.”

In another part of the discussion, Stone accused James of covering up sexual assault allegations against her former chief of staff.

“She clearly covered up sexual assault by her chief of staff, who happens to be a Muslim,” Stone said.

“She was sued in that action, 2022, and then only weeks ago, a Democrat-dominated appeals court did not kill the lawsuit, but dismissed her from it.”

Stone emphasized that James took a very different approach when former Governor Andrew Cuomo faced similar allegations.

“But wait a minute, isn’t that what she drove Andrew Cuomo out of office over?” he said.

“So yet another example of Tish’s hypocrisy.”

Stone also raised concerns about campaign finance irregularities involving ActBlue, a Democrat-aligned payment processing platform currently under investigation.

He said that his team contacted individuals listed as donors to James and discovered that “more than 70% of them will tell you they have never heard of Letitia James. They never made a contribution to her. Never mind, many contributions to her.”

“This is fraud,” Stone said. “I think we will show that her campaign for Attorney General was almost completely fraudulently financed.”

Stone concluded by suggesting that similar issues occurred during James’ earlier political campaigns.

“She did the same thing there, taking contributions that were illegal, laundering them through New York City residents, and then submitting those contributions for the New York City’s eight to one campaign finance matching program. That’s also a crime.”

Summing up his view, Stone stated, “I look, I think Letitia James is in big, big trouble, and she is. She’s the one who said no one is above the law. She said it’s the art of the steal. Well, in fact, it is the art of the steal. But Zach, it looks to me like the person who’s been stealing is Tish.”
