LOFTUS: Democrat Leaders ‘Protest’ For Hours With One Of America’s Greatest Villains, And Nobody Even Noticed

Top Democrats hosted a ‘sit-in’ Sunday on the steps of Capitol Hill, and barely anyone seemed to notice them — or their notable guest, one of America’s greatest villains.

At the crack of dawn, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Democratic New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker plopped themselves down for a day in the sunshine to courageously take a stand (erm, seat) against Republicans and their forthcoming push to pass a budget reconciliation bill. GOP lawmakers are currently negotiating the spending package, which will advance President Donald Trump’s first-year legislative priorities, including immigration enforcement and tax cuts. Numerous Democratic lawmakers, including Delaware Sen. Chris Coons, Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and California Rep. Adam Schiff, joined the protest. But one power broker, responsible for ruining kids’ lives during the COVID-19 pandemic, had to make an appearance to remind everyone that the Democratic Party machine is still controlled by special interest groups: Randi Weingarten, the president of the American Teachers Federation.

About two hours into the livestream event, Weingarten arrived to complain about President Donald Trump’s war against the Ivy League and higher education, and explain how her teachers union is trying to “escalate” and “mobilize” protests against the administration. “We’re trying to actually build community, nurture community, make sure both kids and adults, working families, feel like they’re not alone. That’s number one,” Weingarten began.

“The second is, how we educate, and then how we escalate, organize and mobilize so that people are on the streets and fighting back, because the way in which you fight back authoritarianism is that you fight back together on the streets. That is the way we can help you in congress,” she said.

Once again, Weingarten is trying everything in her power to keep teachers from actually teaching. During the pandemic, she led the charge against kids returning to in-person class and criticized the CDC in 2021 for announcing it was safe for schools to reopen. During the second Trump era, it’s all about mass mobilization for Weingarten. Teachers shouldn’t just teach; they need to “escalate,” and tell little Jimmy and Sally that if their parents aren’t in the streets protesting the Orange Man Dictator, they’re complicit in a fascist takeover of America.

Forget about the kids and the quality of public education. Weingarten clearly does not care. She cares only about serving the Democratic Party and using her union as a means to a political end.
