Luna Says Swalwell’s Swamp Days Are Numbered [WATCH]

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna announced plans to pursue the expulsion of multiple members of Congress, saying her office has already begun the formal process to bring forward motions targeting lawmakers from both parties.

Luna said her staff initiated the process ahead of filing the motions, which she indicated would address allegations involving conduct she described as unacceptable for elected officials.

“So on Friday, I had my staff initiate the process and file or set the process to file motions for expulsions for multiple members of Congress, both Democrat and Republican,” Luna said.

She outlined the types of conduct she believes should disqualify individuals from serving in Congress.

“And I think even though Democrats and Republicans might have ideological differences, I think we should be able to all agree on the basics that maybe if you’re, I don’t know, sexually harassing or assaulting or have issues of domestic violence, or you’re stealing funds from FEMA, maybe you should not be in Congress, right?” Luna said.

She continued, “Like, maybe it’s time for you to go home and figure those issues out, not on taxpayer dollars.”

Luna specifically confirmed that she intends to introduce a motion targeting Rep. Eric Swalwell in the coming days.

“So yes, I am going to be bringing forward the motion to expel Eric Swalwell next week,” she said.

She also indicated that the move could lead to additional actions involving other lawmakers.

“And I think that this is going to trigger other motions,” Luna said.

“And you know what? Bring it. It’s time. This is way overdue.”

Luna described the effort as part of a broader push to address what she characterized as public corruption within Congress.

“I think that this is just the bare minimum that we can deliver for the American people,” she said. “Is not tolerate public corruption in the House of Representatives.”

She emphasized that the standard she is advocating for is not complex.

“This is not rocket science. This is basic 101,” Luna said. “Most people will go to jail over this.”

Luna concluded by stating her intent to support additional expulsion efforts and urged her colleagues to do the same.

“So it’s time for these people to go,” she said. “So yes, I’ll be voting to expel members of Congress, and I hope my colleagues join me.”

Under House rules, expelling a member of Congress requires a two-thirds majority vote in the chamber.

Luna acknowledged that threshold as she outlined her plans moving forward.

“We need two-thirds of the vote,” she said.
