A Florida homeowner who refused to back down after being slapped with more than $60,000 in fines for displaying pro-Trump banners just scored a massive legal win against Walton County.
As reported by The Blaze, Marvin Peavy, a proud supporter of President Donald Trump, made headlines for his bold display of banners outside his Seagrove Beach home, declaring messages like “Trump Won” and “Let’s Go Brandon.”
But the county didn’t take kindly to his exercise of free speech.

Officials hit Peavy with daily fines, claiming his banners violated the county’s scenic corridor code. That didn’t deter him one bit. Instead of taking them down, he doubled down—adding even more banners with messages like “Who’s Your Daddy?” and “Trump Coming Home 2025.”
“They came after my constitutional rights, which they cannot do. It woke me up as a patriot. I’m very happy that they came after me, and I woke up. I’ve got great lawyers. We feel very good about what’s going on. The U.S. Supreme Court has already ruled that you can have signs on your home. They cannot do anything about it.”
For years, Walton County officials kept fining Peavy $50 per day, racking up an outrageous $63,000 in penalties. Their rules allowed political banners only during election years, with fines kicking in 15 days after the election. But Peavy didn’t cave, and it’s a good thing he didn’t.
Instead of handing over a dime, Peavy took Walton County to court. And on March 5, a circuit judge delivered a resounding victory for free speech.

The ruling not only allowed Peavy to keep his banners flying high, but also prohibited the county from enforcing any fines or liens against his property. To top it off, Walton County was ordered to pay Peavy $42,000 by Saturday to cover his legal fees.
Talk about a backfire. The county tried to silence a Trump supporter, and now taxpayers are footing the bill for their unconstitutional overreach.
Peavy’s case is yet another example of why conservatives must stand their ground. The left and their bureaucratic enforcers will trample constitutional rights if given the chance. But when real Americans fight back, the Constitution wins.
Peavy isn’t just a homeowner with a few banners—he’s a patriot who took on the system and won. And thanks to his unwavering stand, his Trump flags will keep waving in the Florida breeze for years to come.
