The co-founder of a political group that opposes President Donald Trump laughed when a guest on his podcast used a vulgar phrase to imply Trump couldn’t govern.
The Trump administration is marking its first 100 days, touting its success at securing the border and also its efforts on the economy, with Trump scheduled to celebrate the milestone at a rally in Michigan. MSNBC contributor Chris Whipple told host Rick Wilson, a co-founder of the Lincoln Project, Trump was a master at campaigning on “The Lincoln Project Podcast.” (RELATED: Harris Faulkner Smacks Down Guest Who Downplays Dems’ Cussing Deluge)
“He a genius for campaigning, he is a feral reptilian genius for campaigning,” Whipple told Wilson. “But as Ken Duberstein, Reagan’s last chief of staff, always, like, loved to say, campaigning, you’re trying to destroy your opponent; governing, you’re trying to make love to your opponent. I apologize for the unfortunate image, but it’s true.”

Wilson claimed in January 2022 that first lady Melania Trump was “months” away from creating adult content on OnlyFans, eight months after the Lincoln Project created a group to promote “civility.” Wilson and other co-founders of the group pocketed millions of dollars while opposing Trump in the 2020 and 2024 presidential campaigns and Republicans in the 2022 mid-term elections.
The organization came under fire after co-founder John Weaver was accused of predatory behavior toward young men. The group later exonerated itself of wrongdoing, but not before co-founder Jennifer Horn resigned from the group over Weaver’s conduct.
Trump’s opponents have increased their use of profanity, particularly since a clash between Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas and Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia during a May 2024 House Oversight Committee hearing, calling the approach being “dark woke,” according to The New York Times.
Democrats faced criticism over increased use of profanity and their conduct during Trump’s March 4 address to Congress, when they remained seated and rarely applauded during Trump’s speech, remaining silent even when Secret Service Director Sean Curran presented Devarjaye “D.J.” Daniel, who is battling brain cancer, with credentials to serve as an honorary agent during Trump’s speech.
