A left-leaning reporter tried to corner Senator Marco Rubio during a press conference, suggesting that the Trump administration’s decision to revoke a green card from a known Hamas sympathizer was an attack on free speech.
But Rubio wasn’t having it. He dismantled the ridiculous argument with a dose of common sense and legal reality, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.
The question stemmed from the administration’s move to revoke the visa of a Columbia University protest organizer who had openly expressed support for Hamas—a terrorist group known for kidnapping children, slaughtering civilians, and wreaking havoc on innocent lives.

The reporter pressed Rubio, claiming that President Trump had previously championed free speech, so why would his administration now be “suppressing” it?
Rubio didn’t mince words in his response. He made it clear that there is no constitutional right for foreign nationals to be in the United States, especially when they openly support terrorist organizations and contribute to the chaos on college campuses.
“When you come to the United States as a visitor, which is what a visa is, you are here as a guest. We can deny you that visa,” Rubio stated firmly. He continued by breaking down the absurdity of allowing someone into the country who openly backs a terrorist group.
“If you tell us, when you apply, ‘Hi, I’m trying to get into the United States on a student visa, I am a big supporter of Hamas, a murderous, barbaric group that kidnaps children, that rapes teenage girls, that takes hostages, that allows them to die in captivity…’ If you told us all these things when you applied for a visa… we would deny your visa.”

Rubio pointed out that if someone actually engages in pro-Hamas activism after being allowed in, their visa should be revoked immediately.
“No one has a right to a student visa. No one has a right to a green card,” he added, shutting down any notion that free speech protections apply to foreigners who enter the country under false pretenses and then actively disrupt institutions.

Despite the Trump administration’s efforts to remove dangerous individuals like this pro-Hamas activist, an Obama-appointed judge intervened, blocking the deportation of Mahmoud Khali.
The judge argued that Khali was merely exercising “constitutionally protected speech.”
This case is yet another example of left-wing judicial activism that prioritizes radicals over American safety.
However, with Trump-appointed judges making their way through the courts, this decision could very well end up before the Supreme Court—where sanity might finally prevail.
It’s simple: if you come to the U.S. on a visa, you’re a guest. If you start causing chaos, you don’t get to stay. That’s not a free speech issue—it’s common sense.
