A Michigan hotel executive is facing a lawsuit alleging he groped and attempted to kiss a female employee multiple times during a company outing at a Justin Timberlake concert earlier this year, as reported by The New York Post.

Court documents filed in Michigan accuse Amerilodge Group CEO Asad Malik of inappropriate conduct toward hotel manager Stephanie Starling, 38, at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on February 20.

Starling alleges that Malik, who is married, placed his hand on her thigh and squeezed her backside while the group attended the concert in VIP seating. According to the complaint, Malik then propositioned her for a kiss while the two were in the arena’s concession area.

“He said he bet it would be a good kiss too,” the filing states. Starling claimed Malik followed up by telling her:

“I’m going in for that kiss.”

The lawsuit further alleges that Malik attempted to pay Starling to keep the incident quiet. Details of the alleged offer were not disclosed in the filings reviewed by the Detroit Free Press.

Starling, who works as a hotel manager for Amerilodge Group, reported that the alleged harassment took place in front of other employees who were also invited to the concert. The outing was arranged by Malik as part of a corporate event.

The civil complaint seeks damages for sexual harassment and hostile work environment. As of now, no criminal charges have been reported in connection with the incident.

Amerilodge Group, which operates hotel properties across Michigan and several other states, has not publicly commented on the lawsuit. Malik has not responded publicly to the allegations.

The lawsuit adds to ongoing public scrutiny of corporate leaders facing misconduct claims. In Michigan, workplace harassment cases have increasingly made their way into both state and federal courts in recent years, with plaintiffs seeking greater accountability from employers.

Justin Timberlake’s February 20 performance in Detroit was part of his national concert tour, drawing thousands of fans to Little Caesars Arena.
