Richard Sherman’s family had a terrifying wake-up call over the weekend, when armed criminals reportedly broke into their Washington state home in the dead of night.
The bold and disturbing invasion was caught on the couple’s home surveillance system, and now law enforcement is actively investigating, as TMZ reported.
Ashley Moss, Sherman’s wife and mother of their two children, took to social media to sound the alarm. She posted several surveillance screenshots showing what appear to be two masked men lurking inside their mansion in the middle of the night.

According to Moss, both suspects were armed, and at least one seemed to be carrying a duffle bag — presumably for hauling out whatever they planned to steal.
House being robbed at gun point with my family in it isn’t what anyone wants for a birthday gift. Scary situation that my Wife handled masterfully and kept my kids safe. If anyone has any info that can help find these people please reach out. pic.twitter.com/HSHPiRHuoP

The images show the armed suspects moving through various parts of the house, including the kitchen and living room — a clear violation of the family’s privacy and safety.

Moss didn’t mince words in her caption:
“People are so sh**ty! Come in my house middle of the night with guns and threaten my family!!! Let me tell you .. you messed with [the] wrong one!!!”
That’s a reaction every American parent can understand. In a time when soft-on-crime policies have emboldened criminals and undermined law enforcement, families are increasingly left to fend for themselves — even high-profile ones like the Shermans.
Authorities confirmed the break-in occurred but are keeping details close to the vest for now, only stating that the situation remains “an open and active investigation.”

Sherman, who played 11 seasons in the NFL and was a key figure in the Seattle Seahawks’ Super Bowl XLVIII victory, has since transitioned into his role as an NFL analyst. The incident happened just days before he celebrated his 37th birthday on Sunday.
The couple — who got engaged in 2015 and married in 2018 — has two children, Rayden and Avery. While it’s not publicly known whether any family members were home during the break-in, the incident clearly left an emotional mark on Moss.
This break-in isn’t just about one family. It’s a reflection of a broader, troubling trend where criminals feel emboldened, and the law-abiding are left on edge. When even a former NFL superstar’s home isn’t safe, it’s fair to ask: How secure is the average American family?
Sherman and Moss appear ready to fight back — not just with cameras, but with resolve. And judging by Moss’s fiery response, the thugs who invaded their home picked the wrong family to mess with.
