Republican Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie is sparring with President Donald Trump in a fight to unseal the government’s Jeffrey Epstein files.
Massie introduced a binding resolution Monday that would force Attorney General Pam Bondi to release every document tied to Epstein and his alleged network of accomplices. (RELATED: House GOP Trying To Keep Democrats From Releasing Info Related To Epstein Files)

Massie’s so-called “Phase 2 of the Epstein files” seemed to strike a nerve with Trump, who attacked the congressman in a Truth Social post Monday.
“Thomas Massie, the worst Republican Congressman, and an almost guaranteed NO VOTE each and every time, is an Embarrassment to Kentucky,” the president said. “He’s lazy, slow moving, and totally disingenuous – A real loser! Never has anything positive to add,” he continued. “Looking for someone good to run against this guy, someone I can Endorse and vigorously campaign for!”
Massie’s resolution would bar the Epstein records from being “withheld, delayed, or redacted on the basis of embarrassment or political sensitivity for U.S. or foreign officials.” It also orders Bondi to produce an “unclassified summary” explaining the substance of any classified or withheld material.
The lawmaker fired back at Trump, framing the attacks as retaliation for his Epstein push.
“I introduced the only binding congressional legislation to release the Epstein files and already have 20 sponsors. In return, the attacks on me intensified,” Massie wrote, vowing that he is not “backing down” but “fighting.” He linked to a fundraising page and called on supporters to donate. The Kentucky lawmaker was also one of the few Republicans to oppose the president’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” blasting it for skimping on federal spending cuts and deepening the national deficit.

Trump dismissed Massie as a “grandstander” and said he should be voted out of Congress.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Caller in June, Massie warned that any primary challenge against him could backfire on the president.
