Mayor Frey’s New Standard: You Can Injure Cops
SHARE

Mayor Jacob Frey has articulated the standard for when you may assault the police without their being able to exercise self-defense: they must wait until they suffer potentially deadly injuries.

Yes, that is right. It is the responsibility of officers to wait until they have been severely injured before they defend themselves.

Insane.

The mayor of Minneapolis is telling people it’s ok to assault cops just as long as you don’t cause life threatening injuries.

That is not how this works, nor should it be. That is how you get police officers killed.

This is a line of thought I have seen a lot online in the past couple of days, though: because the officer was not killed or severely injured, he had no reason to believe his life was in danger. Invert that thought for a moment: the only proof that these people will accept that an officer’s life is in danger is if he loses it; until somebody dies, the criminals keep getting free shots at them, I guess.

Mayor Frey is no longer even denying that the car hit the officer, and I suppose that makes sense. We can all see it in the videos. That is assault with a deadly weapon, and obviously, Renee Good was still in possession of the weapon she used to injure the ICE agent. She remained a danger. Period.

Of course, Good was already committing a felony by obstructing a law enforcement operation, and she was there for that explicit reason. She had moved to Minneapolis to do that; she trained to do it; she did it for the cameras, with her wife filming it; she refused to obey lawful orders, which is another crime; and she surged at and hit an officer.

Mayor Frey’s position, and the position of most of our Democratic Party elected officials, is that she is the victim of an execution. Just as the Portland Police Chief is calling Tren de Aragua gang members who assaulted ICE agents ‘victims,’ and cried that they FAFOed. Not only that, they are applauding these felons.

It is a bizarre inversion of morality and the law. People who screamed “Nobody is above the law” when Donald Trump got convicted for signing legal documents his lawyer gave him are now explaining why committing felonies by assaulting law enforcement officers doing their duty in enforcing laws is the moral thing to do and should make you immune from facing consequences of your actions.

They literally are defending sex traffickers who assault police officers.

Chicago’s Police Chief sees things very differently.

Even the Chicago Police Chief gets it. Let ICE do their jobs or else face consequences………pic.twitter.com/RtwNHB0t16

Mayor Frey is staking out the position that criminals may hit police officers with cars, and it is the responsibility of officers to wait and see if they are paralyzed before they can act in self-defense.

I doubt he has instructed his own security officers to wait to defend him until he is on the ground, bleeding. Just guessing there, though. Maybe he has told them that “protesters” may assault him with vehicles, too.

I would love to have a “journalist” ask him what their rules of engagement are. What level of injury are they to allow before they act?

I do not believe that Good intended to kill the officer, but she clearly posed a threat. She HIT HIM WITH HER CAR. Cars are deadly weapons. Officers have been killed by cars. You don’t get free shots at anybody, including police officers you don’t like.

Am I sad Good is dead? Yes. Am I sad the officer wasn’t killed? No. Unlike Mayor Frey.
