Melania Trump issued a somber statement Wednesday on X addressing the tragic death of Charlie Kirk.
Speaking out about the horrific assassination for the first time, the First Lady reflected on the devastating toll it will take on Charlie Kirk’s family. “Charlie’s children will be raised with stories instead of memories, photographs instead of laughter, and silence where their father’s voice should have echoed,” she wrote.

Amid the heartbreak and pain, Melania addressed the nation with a powerful message.
“Charlie Kirk’s life should serve as a symbolic reminder that compassionate awareness elevates family, love, and country,” she wrote.

President Donald Trump also spoke out Wednesday night and began his national address by saying, “To my great fellow Americans, I am filled with grief and anger at the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk on a college campus in Utah. Charlie inspired millions, and, tonight, all who knew him and loved him are united in shock and horror,” Trump said.
He continued, “Charlie was a patriot who devoted his life to the cause of open debate and the country that he loved so much, the United States of America. He fought for liberty, democracy, justice, and the American people.”
“This is a dark moment for America,” Trump said.

Kirk, 31, died after being shot during a campus event at Utah Valley University. He is survived by his wife, Erika, and their two young children.
