Joe Biden’s latest gaffe during a solemn moment has sparked outrage across the country. While attending a prayer service in New Orleans for the victims of a New Year’s Eve terror attack, the president appeared to fall asleep for over two minutes.
The event, intended to honor the 14 lives tragically lost and the dozens injured, seemed to elicit little more than indifference from the 82-year-old president, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.
The tragedy occurred when 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar plowed through a crowd celebrating on Bourbon Street. The attack left 15 dead and at least 35 injured. The Bidens visited New Orleans on Monday to pay their respects, but Joe Biden’s apparent lack of attentiveness during the service is raising eyebrows.

Biden’s posture—head bowed, eyes closed—did not appear to be in prayer, as his wife, Jill, kept her eyes open throughout the ceremony.

This isn’t the first time Biden’s behavior has drawn criticism for insensitivity. After the attack, Biden posted a tone-deaf message on social media: “Happy New Year, folks.” The remark came just hours after the tragic event and was widely condemned as out of touch.
Happy New Year, folks.

Adding insult to injury, Biden’s remarks on the attack during a press conference last Thursday were equally dismissive. After discussing judicial nominations, Biden quickly shifted gears, eager to watch the Sugar Bowl.
“The Sugar Bowl is back on. Kickoff is going to take off very shortly. If I don’t get this damn thing done, we’re gonna be in real trouble,” he said, checking his watch.
During a press conference on the t*rror attack, Biden says he needs to “get this damn thing” done because the Sugar Bowl is starting.
He’s annoyed he has to update the country on a t*rrorist attack because he wants to watch football.

Such incidents paint a picture of a president detached from the pain and suffering of the American people. His actions, or lack thereof, during moments of national tragedy continue to fuel frustration among those who feel their leader is more interested in football games than addressing the nation’s grief.
In times of crisis, the country looks to its president for leadership and empathy. Unfortunately, Biden’s track record of gaffes and apparent indifference only deepens the divide between him and the American people.
Of course, he is. He doesn’t care about the little people.

Whether it’s dozing off during a prayer service or rushing through comments to catch a football game, the president’s actions seem to betray the solemnity such moments demand.
