Former First Lady Michelle Obama has opened up about her personal habits and relationship with her husband, Barack Obama, offering new insights into their marriage.
In a preview clip for the upcoming episode of the Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce podcast, set to be released in full on Thursday, Michelle, 61, shared that she and Barack have very different perspectives on bedtime.
“Bedtime is the best time of the day,” she said in the interview. “My husband teases me about how early I can go to bed. He just doesn’t understand.”

She explained that she enjoys getting into bed with “some good sheets” at night, especially when it’s “cool.” However, Michelle noted that she makes exceptions when hosting guests.
“I’m talking but, you know, the minute we finish up, I’m just trying not to go to bed before the sun goes down,” she said, adding that her preferred bedtime is “anytime after dinner.”

The remarks come just a week after Michelle shared another personal detail about their marriage during an episode of her new podcast, IMO, which aired on March 12.
In that discussion, she revealed one of her biggest pet peeves about Barack: his tendency to be late.
“Barack, you know, he had to adjust to what on time was for me,” Michelle said.
She elaborated on how she had to set clear expectations for punctuality.
“I was like, ‘Dude, a 3 o’clock departure means you’ve done all that,’ you know, it’s like, don’t start looking for your glasses at the 3 o’clock departure,” she said.
Despite her frustration with his time management, Michelle acknowledged that Barack, 63, has made improvements over the years.
“He’s improved over 30 years of marriage, but that was a ‘you must adjust,’” she said.
Michelle and Barack Obama married in 1992 and have two daughters, Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23.
While Michelle and Barack continue to share aspects of their life together publicly, speculation about their marriage has surfaced in recent months.
Barack has been seen alone at multiple high-profile events, including President Jimmy Carter’s funeral, a dinner in Washington, D.C., and President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Michelle’s absence from these events has fueled rumors about possible tensions within their marriage.
However, a source previously told Page Six that Michelle’s decision to skip Trump’s inauguration was intentional.
“She is not a phony,” the source said.
“She showed up reluctantly for the election. They were united, but she doesn’t have to unify around [Trump]. She doesn’t have to say anything. Her absence speaks volumes.”
Another source claimed in January that Michelle has largely “checked out” of life in Washington, D.C.
Despite the speculation, the couple has continued to present a united front through social media. Barack shared a public birthday message for Michelle in January and posted a Valentine’s Day tribute on Instagram.
“Thirty-two years together and you still take my breath away,” Barack wrote.

Michelle responded with a message of her own, writing, “You’re my rock. Always have been. Always will be.”
