Former Mighty Ducks actor Shaun Weiss says he is trying to locate former Nickelodeon child actor Tylor Chase after a recent viral video showed Chase living on the streets in California.

Weiss, who has spoken publicly about overcoming drug addiction and homelessness, said he has arranged a bed for Chase at a recovery facility but has been unable to contact him, as reported by TMZ.

Chase is best known for playing Martin Qwerly on Nickelodeon’s Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide in the early 2000s.

A video circulating online shows the now 36-year-old living outdoors, with disheveled hair, wearing a Las Vegas Raiders polo shirt and oversized ripped jeans that he is seen holding up with his hands.

According to information shared publicly, comedian Russell Peters brought the video to Weiss’s attention.

After seeing the footage, Weiss said he decided to take action and offer help based on his own experience rebuilding his life after addiction.

Weiss told TMZ that he has secured a place for Chase at Eleven 11 Recovery, a treatment facility in San Clemente, California, where Weiss works with individuals seeking recovery.

Weiss said Chase would be welcome to enroll in the facility’s sober living program, which can provide housing for up to one year. Weiss said Chase could begin the program on a scholarship basis.

“I have a bed for Tylor Chase,” Weiss said, adding that the only obstacle is finding him.

Weiss said Chase was reportedly last seen at Westgate Plaza in Riverside, California, but efforts to locate him so far have been unsuccessful.

Weiss has asked the public for help reaching Chase and is requesting that anyone with information contact him directly.

The situation has drawn attention online following previous videos of Chase that prompted fans to create a GoFundMe campaign.

That fundraising effort was later shut down by Chase’s mother, who said her son needed medical attention rather than financial donations.

Weiss has said he understands the situation Chase may be facing.

I worked with Tylor on Ned’s decades ago. He was a bright child and it’s heartbreaking to see him in this state. Thank you @shaunweiss and crew for offering help to Tylor… will keep folks posted on finding him.. it maybe hard to convince him to get help but we can only hope.… pic.twitter.com/4M2U0QJPSX

In 2020, Weiss was living on the streets and was arrested on burglary charges involving methamphetamine. His arrest and visible decline became widely publicized at the time.

Since then, Weiss has rebuilt his life, maintaining sobriety and returning to professional work. He has resumed acting, landed a movie role, and has been performing stand-up comedy.

Weiss has also spoken openly about recovery and now works to assist others facing similar struggles.

Weiss said he is committed to helping Chase if contact can be made and is encouraging anyone who knows Chase’s whereabouts to reach out. Weiss asked that anyone with information send him a direct message on Instagram.

The search for Chase remains ongoing, and no updates have been provided regarding his current condition or location beyond the Riverside report. Weiss said his goal is to get Chase connected with structured help as soon as possible.
