“Momala” Harris’ Stepdaughter Endorses Radical Socialist With Anti-Israel Record [WATCH]

Ella Emhoff, the stepdaughter of former Vice President Kamala Harris, publicly endorsed New York State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, a self-described Democratic Socialist, for mayor of New York City, as reported by The Western Journal.

The endorsement was made at a Mamdani campaign rally in Brooklyn over the weekend.

Mamdani, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, has drawn criticism for his past statements regarding Israel, support for the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, and calls to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Emhoff described Mamdani as “the next mayor of New York City” and said he is “going to make New York happier, healthier, and more affordable.”

Mamdani, who currently represents Queens in the state legislature, is polling second behind former Governor Andrew Cuomo in a crowded ranked-choice Democratic primary, according to an April Siena College poll.

The system allows voters to rank candidates, with rounds of vote redistribution occurring until one candidate secures over 50 percent support.

While Cuomo holds a substantial lead in initial rounds, Mamdani remains a significant contender due to his energized base and growing support from progressive activists.

However, critics point to Mamdani’s controversial positions and affiliations, especially in the aftermath of the October 7 Hamas terror attacks on Israel.

Just one day after the attacks, Mamdani issued a statement criticizing Israel’s response, accusing the government of cutting off Gaza’s electricity and calling Israeli policy a form of apartheid.

A week later, he joined protesters outside Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s home, demanding a halt to U.S. support for Israel’s defensive efforts.

In a profile published by The Free Press, Mamdani’s ideological background was traced to his academic parents. His father, Mahmood Mamdani, is a Columbia University professor who has described the October 7 Hamas attack as a “military action.”

The elder Mamdani participated in Columbia’s pro-Palestinian encampments and taught courses comparing Israel to apartheid South Africa.

Zohran Mamdani has praised his parents’ influence, saying, “These are people to whom I owe everything — not simply the person that I am, but the thoughts that I have.”

Beyond his foreign policy views, Mamdani’s domestic proposals include a $30 minimum wage, city-operated grocery stores, and replacing the NYPD with a “Department of Community Safety.”

Critics view the proposals as a revival of defund-the-police initiatives that previously led to a spike in violent crime.

Mamdani has also stated that if Netanyahu were to visit New York City, he would seek to have the Israeli prime minister arrested under international law, despite having no jurisdiction to do so.

Emhoff’s endorsement has raised questions given her family ties. She is the daughter of Doug Emhoff, former President Biden’s special envoy to combat antisemitism and a former member of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council.

Critics are calling on former Vice President Harris to address the endorsement publicly.

Kamala Harris has often referred to herself as “Momala,” using her role as stepmother to Emhoff in campaign messaging. With Harris reportedly eyeing future runs for higher office, Emhoff’s political involvement is drawing renewed scrutiny.
