MSNBC host Ari Melber took issue with President Donald Trump’s recent comments regarding Tesla, arguing on Wednesday’s broadcast of The Beat that Trump was equating Tesla protesters with domestic terrorists.
Melber’s remarks came in response to Trump’s statement that violence against Tesla or its dealerships should be classified as domestic terrorism.
Thank you, President Trump, for calling these domestic terrorists exactly what they are.
The attacks on Tesla dealerships are organized political violence against Elon Musk and @DOGE.

Elon Musk Called This Financial News ‘Terrifying’
During the segment, Melber contended that Trump’s position suggests he wants to use government power to benefit Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

“[W]e see Trump trying to bend the government to help Musk, and it goes well beyond what you see just in these kind of sort of embarrassing efforts to hawk cars,” Melber said.
“If they’re great cars, why do you need the government involved in selling them in that manner?”
He also pointed to a statement made by a prosecutor under Trump’s administration, saying, “But a Trump prosecutor also made a possibly illegal vow to investigate members of Congress who criticize Elon Musk. That’s, again, helpful to Musk, coming from the Trump administration.”
Melber then turned his attention to Trump’s recent remarks on Tesla-related protests, alleging that the president was classifying protesters as domestic terrorists.
“And then Trump recently said he agrees with a suggestion that people who protest Tesla are actually, ‘domestic terrorists’ ‘harming a great American company,’” Melber stated.
“We would not expect American judges to allow any sort of treatment of protesters as domestic terrorists because they go to a Tesla, as you see here.”
While discussing Trump’s stance, Melber displayed a Reuters article with the headline, Trump says violence against Tesla is domestic terrorism.
The article clearly noted that Trump’s domestic terrorism comments were specifically referring to acts of violence rather than peaceful protests.
Melber also showed footage of Tesla dealership protests while criticizing Trump’s framing of the issue.
His remarks underscored concerns among some media figures about how the administration might handle demonstrations related to the electric car company.
The debate over Tesla, Musk, and Trump’s policies continues to be a focal point in political discourse, with supporters arguing that Tesla represents American innovation while critics raise concerns over corporate influence and government favoritism.
