MSNBC published a bizarre op-ed yesterday by a gay Christian activist claiming “Trump’s attacks on DEI are anti-Christian.”
The nonsensical fear-mongering is attributed to Guthrie Graves-Fitzsimmons, senior director of policy and advocacy at Interfaith Alliance, and the legacy media’s long-time token Christian.
“You can’t read the Gospels and not come away with a strong sense of God’s preference for diversity, equity and inclusion,” writes Graves-Fitzsimmons. Certainly, a unique exegesis, if wholly inaccurate and profane. Unless Graves-Fitzsimmons has discovered Apocrypha where Jesus is henpecked by an HR manager. “Exploiting racial and religious grievances for electoral interests is as essential to the MAGA movement as it is contrary to the Gospel,” the author continues. One can vote for Trump or follow Christ. At least, according to the authority vested in Guthrie Graves-Fitzsimmons.
The activist’s X account touts an “expertise” cited by a litany of mainstream media publications, including CNN and the New York Times. In 2019, the New York Times published a glowing profile of his union to Rev. John Stanger in the Presbyterian Church.
A quick examination of his X account yields a bounty of troubling tweets. In 2022, Graves-Fitzimmons offered this advice to parents: “Take your children to churches that host drag shows.”

He also published a “Church Flag Guide” condemning the display of the American flag, encouraging churches to instead fly the “Pride” flag. Black and brown stripes included, per the non-existent lobbying efforts of blacks and Hispanics.

It’s no wonder Graves-Fitzsimmons has found work with Interfaith Alliance, a nonprofit leftist organization promoting abortion, same-sex marriage, and cross-sex experimentation on children — All under the banner of a “faith movement.”
The Interfaith Alliance’s website features protestors holding signs reading: “God loves trans kids,” “Trans lives are sacred,” and “Love thy trans neighbor.”
The group decried H.R. 28, the “Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025,” legislation that restricts men from participating in women’s sports (and vice versa).
“What’s at stake here is not just sports, but the very principles of religious freedom and equality that should be guaranteed for all,” said the Interfaith Alliance.
The organization apparently enjoyed a four-year vacation as the Biden administration trampled Americans’ religious liberties. (RELATED: Biden Admin Looking To Remove Religious Student Groups’ Protections On Campus | The Daily Caller)
Where was their ire when California spent months surveilling churchgoers, screening for COVID-19 lockdown violations like … singing?
Democrats eagerly seized on lockdown-era pretenses to violate religious expression and practice. In May 2020, former Democratic vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz determined retail stores were to reopen to 50% capacity, but religious bodies should remain restricted to no more than ten people. No great surprise from a man whose church takes issues with God’s pronouns. (RELATED: Tim Walz’s Church Doesn’t Like To Call God ‘Him,’ Supports Reparations And Pride Parades | The Daily Caller)
