During her response to President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress on Tuesday, Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) singled out Elon Musk, criticizing both him and the administration’s policies.
When asked about Slotkin’s remarks, Musk offered a brief but cutting response.
Fox News senior national correspondent Aishah Hasnie approached Musk as he walked alongside Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI), asking, “What do you want to say to Elissa Slotkin? She called you out by name.”

The remark prompted McClain, a fellow Michigan lawmaker, to laugh at the dismissive reply.

During her speech, Slotkin raised concerns about the national debt under Trump, warning that his policies “could walk us right into a recession.”
She also accused the president of potentially targeting Americans’ retirement funds to fund his economic plans.
“In order to pay for his plan, he could very well come after your retirement – the Social Security, Medicare, and VA benefits you worked your whole life to earn,” Slotkin said.
“The president claims he won’t, but Elon Musk just called Social Security ‘the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time.’”
Slotkin went on to criticize Musk’s business operations and accused his companies of intruding on Americans’ privacy.
“His gang of 20-year-olds [is] using their own computer servers to poke through your tax returns, your health information, and your bank accounts,” she claimed.
Slotkin also emphasized the need for government efficiency while expressing concern over the administration’s approach to reforms.
“We need more efficient government. You want to cut waste, I’ll help you do it,” she stated.
“But change doesn’t need to be chaotic or make us less safe.”

Musk, serving as a Special Government Employee, has played a key role in advising the administration on technological and economic matters.
His recent remarks about Social Security drew significant attention, with critics pointing to his characterization of the program as a financial burden that needs reform.
Slotkin’s comments are part of broader Democratic concerns over the Trump administration’s economic policies and its close ties with business leaders like Musk.
However, Musk’s dismissive response suggests he is unfazed by the criticism.
While Slotkin and other Democrats continue to raise alarms over Trump’s economic strategy, Musk and his companies remain involved in reshaping government efficiency and technology policy.
Whether Slotkin’s warnings gain traction or Musk continues to brush off his critics, the debate over economic policy and government spending is likely to remain a central issue in the months ahead.
