Elon Musk, the billionaire innovator and new co-head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), had the spotlight stolen by his exuberant four-year-old son, X Æ A-12, during a rally celebrating President-elect Donald Trump’s victory on Sunday night, as reported by The Daily Mail.
The toddler’s infectious energy captivated the crowd, leaping and waving on stage while his father addressed the audience.
“Little X just followed me on stage here,” Musk, 53, joked, as his son enthusiastically raised his arms in a victorious gesture. Musk described X as “a very enthusiastic supporter” of the incoming president, which drew cheers and laughter from the crowd.

Musk used his brief remarks to outline ambitious goals for DOGE, the newly-formed federal agency tasked with reining in bureaucratic waste.
“This victory is the start, really,” Musk declared, vowing to shake up the federal bureaucracy and “Make America Great Again.” He emphasized the importance of making the nation strong for generations to come.
The SpaceX and Tesla CEO revealed a target to cut federal spending by $2 trillion over the coming years from a bloated $6.8 trillion budget.
Acknowledging the challenge, Musk conceded, “I think if we try for $2 trillion, we’ve got a good shot at getting $1 trillion.” The department has already staffed 50 employees and plans to expand to 100 in the coming weeks, with a strong preference for engineers.

Notably, DOGE has drawn a hard line on hiring, rejecting two prominent Democrats—Norman Eisen, an ethics official under Barack Obama, and Virginia Canter, a Bill Clinton attorney.
The pair had reportedly hoped to join the department to oversee potential conflicts of interest but were swiftly directed to a statement by Trump himself.
Katie Miller, a spokesperson for the administration, explained, “President Trump’s Truth made clear we have no room in our administration for Democrats.”
Trump’s post reinforced his stance, announcing the hiring of over 1,000 individuals aligned with his vision and explicitly advising against hiring anti-Trump Republicans or those suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
Eisen and Canter have since launched a nonprofit, the State Democracy Defenders Fund, which they claim will monitor DOGE’s activities. However, their efforts seem more like sour grapes than a meaningful check on the administration’s vision.
Musk and the DOGE team are pressing forward, emboldened by the president-elect’s endorsement. As Musk cheered alongside his energetic son, the message was clear: the new administration is ready to hit the ground running and reclaim efficiency for the American people.
