Musk’s DOGE Uncovers Another Nearly $2 Billion in Biden’s ‘Misplaced’ Funds [WATCH]

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an oversight group led by Elon Musk, announced Friday that it has recovered $1.9 billion in misplaced federal funds under the Biden-Harris administration.

The funds, originating from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), had been designated for financial services administration but were no longer needed.

HUD Secretary Scott Turner collaborated with DOGE to correct the issue and “de-obligated the funds which are now available for other use by the Treasury,” according to the announcement.

The revelation comes amid growing scrutiny over federal spending. Turner, who was appointed to oversee HUD’s operations, has been working with DOGE to improve financial accountability within the agency. On Thursday, he announced the formation of a DOGE task force within HUD.

“We will be very detailed and deliberate about every dollar spent in serving tribal, rural and urban communities across America,” Turner stated in a video posted on X.

Just two days prior, Turner reported that his team had uncovered $260 million in potential savings, adding to a growing list of questionable expenditures identified by DOGE.

The spending review has extended beyond HUD. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin, also working with DOGE, said he recently canceled a $50 million environmental justice grant issued during the Biden-Harris administration.

The grant had been awarded to an organization that, according to Zeldin, believes “climate justice travels through a Free Palestine.”

Additionally, Zeldin revealed that the Biden-Harris administration had allocated $160 million to a Canadian electric bus manufacturer, which has since declared bankruptcy. He made the comments during a Thursday interview on The Story with Martha MacCallum.

According to Zeldin, the administration issued the full payment upfront, rather than distributing funds incrementally as school buses were manufactured.

The company’s financial collapse has now placed the investment in jeopardy.

DOGE, which was established to identify and eliminate wasteful government spending, continues to investigate federal programs for inefficiencies.
