A man was taken into custody in Lawrence, Kansas, on Wednesday afternoon following a violent altercation with police at a Casey’s General Store.
According to the Lawrence Kansas Police Department (LKPD), officers responded to a call about a naked man who had locked himself in the store’s bathroom with a dog and was refusing to leave.
Officers arrived on the scene at approximately 3:00 p.m. after store employees reported the individual was inside the restroom and uncooperative.

Upon entering the bathroom, police found the man nude and allegedly engaged in a sexual act with himself.
When officers attempted to detain him, the suspect became combative, according to the department’s statement posted on Facebook.
Despite being warned to stop, the man allegedly resisted arrest, and officers deployed a Taser twice in an effort to subdue him.
Police say the suspect continued to fight after both Taser deployments.

“Eventually, officers were able to get the man in handcuffs, but he continued to resist being restrained, and while still in the cramped bathroom, the man bit onto his dog’s ear and neck, refusing to let go,” the LKPD said in its statement.
During the confrontation, the suspect also reportedly bit one of the officers.
Additional officers were called to the scene for assistance.
After backup arrived, authorities were able to fully subdue the individual.
He was then transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.
The suspect, whose identity has not yet been released, is expected to face multiple charges once discharged from the hospital.
He will be booked into the Douglas County Correctional Facility upon release, police said.
“Multiple officers suffered minor injuries during the scuffle, including an officer who was treated at the hospital for a puncturing bite wound from the suspect,” the police department added.
The dog that was with the suspect at the time of the incident sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Lawrence Humane Society for care and evaluation.
No information has been released regarding the mental health status of the suspect or whether he was under the influence of any substances at the time of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing, and the department has stated it will release additional details once formal charges are filed.
