Netanyahu Blames “Pro-Gaza Radicals” for Anti-Jewish Violence, Compares Hamas to Nazi Ideology

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned the rise of what he called “neo-Nazi, pro-Gaza radicals,” connecting their actions to a broader ideology of Jew hatred and violent extremism.

In a recent statement, Netanyahu addressed the murder of two young Israelis in Washington, D.C., linking the attack to the global pro-Hamas movement.

The attack, which occurred earlier this week, left Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim dead. Netanyahu described the incident as a terrorist shooting, stating that the couple was targeted for being Jewish.

“A brutal terrorist shot in cold blood a young, beautiful couple, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim. Yaron had just bought an engagement ring for Sarah. He was planning to give it to her in Jerusalem next week. They were planning to start a new and happy life together… that tragically did not happen,” Netanyahu said.

According to the prime minister, the assailant shouted “Free Palestine” during the shooting — a phrase Netanyahu equated to anti-Jewish hate.

“Yaron and Sarah weren’t the victims of a random crime. The terrorists who cruelly gunned them down did so for one reason and one reason alone: he wanted to kill Jews,” he said.

“This is exactly the same chant we heard on October 7.”

Netanyahu referenced the October 7, 2023 terrorist attack carried out by Hamas, in which over 1,200 Israelis were killed, including victims who were beheaded, raped, and burned alive.

More than 250 individuals were taken hostage during the attack, according to Israeli authorities.

During a visit to Israel in the aftermath of the attack, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reportedly told Netanyahu that “these Hamas terrorists are exactly like the Nazis.”

Netanyahu criticized Scholz for what he described as a shift in position by early 2025, noting the German leader’s subsequent electoral defeat.

Netanyahu argued that there is historical precedent for aligning radical Islamist movements with Nazi ideology, noting alliances between the two during World War II.

He further emphasized that Hamas’s goals extend beyond Israel to include the targeting of Christians as well. “Yaron was a Christian Israeli,” Netanyahu said.

“Jews and Christians should be banding together to combat jihad.”

“For these Neo-Nazis, ‘Free Palestine’ is just today’s version of ‘Heil Hitler’,” Netanyahu said.

“They don’t want a Palestinian state. They want to destroy the Jewish state. They want to annihilate the Jewish people who’ve been in the land of Israel for 3,500 years.”

He criticized Western leaders — including French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Canadian Prime Minister Carney — for supporting the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Netanyahu argued that such actions serve to reward terrorism, not resolve the conflict.

“I could never understand how this simple truth evades the leaders of France, Britain, Canada and others. They’re now proposing to establish a Palestinian state and reward these murderers with the ultimate prize,” he said.

Netanyahu reiterated Israel’s experience with Gaza since 2005, calling it a failed experiment in territorial compromise.

“Well, for 18 years, we had a de facto Palestinian state. It’s called Gaza. And what did we get? Peace? No, we got the most savage slaughter of Jews since the Holocaust,” he said.

He pointed out that Hamas publicly praised the Western leaders who demanded a ceasefire and threatened sanctions against Israel. “Hamas was right to thank them,” Netanyahu said.

“Because by issuing their demand, replete with a threat of sanctions against Israel — not Hamas — these three leaders effectively said they want Hamas to remain in power.”

Netanyahu concluded by stating that allowing Hamas to regroup would guarantee future attacks.

“Now these leaders may think that they’re advancing peace. They’re not. They’re emboldening Hamas to continue fighting forever,” he said.

“When mass murderers, rapists, baby killers, and kidnappers thank you, you’re on the wrong side of justice, you’re on the wrong side of humanity, and you’re on the wrong side of history.”
