Neuroscientist Admits Biden Might've Been 'Checked Out' the Entire Time [WATCH]

Prominent neuroscientist and author Sam Harris admitted during a recent discussion that he was misled about President Joe Biden’s mental fitness, conceding that he once believed Biden remained sharp in private settings, despite his declining public performance.

Harris now says he questions that assumption and described the effort to hide Biden’s condition as an “effective” cover-up.

Harris, who had previously defended Biden against concerns about his age and communication struggles, acknowledged that he used to separate Biden’s speaking difficulties from his decision-making capabilities.

“It’s at least intelligible to say, ‘Okay, he’s not a good communicator. He was never a good communicator, he’s only getting worse,’” Harris said.

“You can’t reliably stick him in front of a microphone and trust that something good is gonna come out of his mouth.”

At the time, Harris said he was under the impression that Biden remained competent behind closed doors.

“The truth is… when you sit with him and deliberate about the war in Ukraine or anything else, he is compos mentis, he clearly understands the issue as well as he ever did,” he said, referencing what he had believed to be a more capable president behind the scenes.

However, Harris has since changed his view.

“Because of how effective this cover-up was, I no longer believe that to have been true,” he said.

“I think it’s quite possible that he was just checked out to a degree that I did not suspect at the time.”

Despite acknowledging the cover-up and Biden’s apparent cognitive decline, Harris made it clear that, in his view, none of it ultimately mattered.

He stated that he preferred an incapacitated president over the return of President Donald Trump to the White House.

“Even that is preferable to me and to, I think, many Democrats, than having someone who we consider to be genuinely evil—genuinely 100% purposed to serving himself in the office of the presidency,” Harris said.

He further explained the position held by many within his political camp.

“I would rather have a president in a coma, where the duties of the presidency are executed by a committee of just normal people,” he added.

“And that’s the choice that many of us believe was before us.”

Harris also remarked that the deception surrounding Biden’s condition, while serious, did not ultimately alter his stance.

“Not much materially changes once you reveal just how insane and despicable this cover-up of Biden’s infirmities actually was,” he said, indicating that the political objective of defeating Trump took priority over concerns about transparency or presidential competency.
