A politician’s love language is corruption allegations.
The Boston Planning & Development Agency (BPDA) handed a multimillion-dollar contract to Conan Harris, husband of Democrat Massachusetts Rep. Ayanna Pressley.
Harris is listed as a “Partner & Investor in DREAM Development, the firm selected by the BPDA to co-develop the 400-unit project with Related Beal,” Mass Daily News reported Monday, Sept. 15.
“They basically step by step crammed this down the community who opposes it,” an anonymous “insider” told the outlet. “And the BPDA and Zoning Board rubber stamp it without addressing community concerns. Probably due to who the developer is.” (RELATED: Boston Mayor Wu Handed Multi-Million Dollar Deal To Ayanna Pressley’s Husband)

Pressley’s criticism of President Donald Trump’s business dealings may come back to haunt her. She accused Trump of engaging in a “pay-to-play corruption game” in June, asking, “If this isn’t the definition of corruption, then what is?”
Former Democratic Missouri Rep. Cori Bush paid her husband’s salary for unknown services, despite campaign finance complaints, according to a Daily Caller investigation.
Turn to another “squad” husband, Tim Mynett. Mynett married Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar in 2020.
Omar cut financial ties with her husband’s political consulting firm in 2020, according to the Minnesota Reformer. Not before she’d handed Mynett’s company $2.78 million from her campaign coffers, the outlet reported.
Mynett, and business partner Will Hailer, allegedly promised Naeem Mohd they would triple his $300,000 investment into their California winery within eighteen months of the agreement.
Mynett and Hailer “knew this statement to be false,” court documents claim. Mohd alleges the men returned his initial $300,000 over a month late and never coughed up the other $600,000 he was promised.
Mynett and Hailer’s other companies faced more litigation for a failed marijuana venture. Mynett was not named as a defendant.
Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez paid $850 to Bombazo Dance Co. Inc. for “training” in December 2024, according to House disbursement records. She paid $3,700 to Juan D. Gonzalez on the same date for “training.” These expenditures were listed under Ocasio-Cortez’ “Member Representational Allowance.”
Americans for Public Trust, a nonprofit watchdog organization, accused Ocasio-Cortez of making such payments in “contravention of federal law and the standards of the House of Representatives,” according to the New York Post. Ocasio-Cortez disputed any allegations of wrongdoing on X, writing, “100% wrong. None of this is taxpayer money, this is an [Federal Election Commission (FEC)] filing. Be loud and wrong about something else. Try again next time.”
The FEC’s digital records return no results for payments from Ocasio-Cortez to Bombazo Dance Co. Inc, or Juan D. Gonzalez, in 2023-2024.
“Representative Ocasio-Cortez has made expenditures from her official office account that she herself contends should have been reported to the FEC, presumably because they were made for campaign purposes,” Americans for Public Trust complained, according to the Post.

The House Ethics Committee ordered Ocasio-Cortez in July to pay nearly $3000 for improper conduct at the 2021 Met Gala.
Let’s end with a look at Democratic Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib.
The House Ethics Committee found Tlaib violated campaign finance rules following the 2018 general election, according to Politico, but she did not have “ill intent” in her actions.
Internal emails paint a different picture.
Tlaib wrote in a 2018 email that she was “struggling financially right now” and was “sinking,” according to Fox News. (RELATED: ‘Kill Us, Rape Us’: Watch As Rashida Tlaib Goes On Wild, Unhinged Tirade)
“So I was thinking the campaign could loan me money, but Ryan said that the committee could actually pay me. I was thinking a one time payment of $5k.”
The committee ordered Tlaib to pay back $10,800 to her campaign, money she “improperly received when she was no longer a candidate,” Politico reported.
