Republican Jack Ciattarelli’s campaign for governor of New Jersey is gaining momentum as he continues to draw large crowds and attract support from across party lines.

During an appearance on FOX News Friday morning, Ciattarelli described what he called a “real shift on the ground” in voter enthusiasm and revealed that his campaign recently secured an endorsement from a Democratic mayor.

“There is a shift on the ground, guys, and I have to tell you, your poll is an outlier. There’s a number of polls that have this as a dead heat,” Ciattarelli said, addressing reports that show varying results in the closely watched race.

“Republicans traditionally under poll New Jersey. There’s energy everywhere I go. And last night we picked up another very significant endorsement from another Democratic mayor.”

Ciattarelli contrasted his campaign with that of his opponent, noting that his focus remains on addressing the state’s financial challenges, taxes, and governance rather than personality-driven politics.

“There isn’t a single Republican that has endorsed my opponent whose entire campaign is based on a stack of lies, her disdain for Donald Trump, and that she can fly a helicopter,” Ciattarelli said.

“None of that is going to fix New Jersey.”

BIG NEWS: NJ Governor candidate Jack Ciattarelli says a never-before-seen tidal wave of support and energy is building in New Jersey and the polls are ignoring it.

The latest high-profile endorsement came from North Bergen Mayor and former State Senator Nicholas Sacco, a Democrat who announced his support for Ciattarelli on social media earlier this week.

“This evening, I am proud to stand alongside Jack Ciattarelli at our annual Mayor’s Ball to formally endorse his candidacy,” Sacco wrote in a Facebook post.

“North Bergen has faced significant challenges in recent years, losing critical state funding and aid despite our ongoing appeals for support,” Sacco said.

“Jack has been consistently responsive and pledged to stand with North Bergen and ensure that our community—and others like it across New Jersey—receive the resources and attention they deserve. I have full confidence in his leadership and his commitment to doing what’s right for our residents and for the future of our state. The welfare and well-being of our North Bergen residents are more important than party lines.”

The endorsement marks a rare public break from party unity in New Jersey politics and signals growing frustration among local leaders with the state’s Democratic administration.

Sacco, who served in the State Senate from 1994 to 2022, remains one of the state’s most influential figures in Hudson County politics.

Ciattarelli’s campaign has focused heavily on economic recovery, property tax reform, and reversing what he describes as “a culture of government overreach” following eight years under Democratic Governor Phil Murphy.

With the state facing persistent affordability issues and high outmigration rates, Ciattarelli has sought to present himself as a candidate who can appeal to both Republican voters and disaffected Democrats.

Grassroots organizers have also ramped up efforts to boost Republican turnout across the state. Conservative activist Scott Presler has been active on the ground in New Jersey, organizing voter registration drives and encouraging early voting ahead of Election Day.

Political analysts note that New Jersey, while generally leaning Democratic in statewide races, has a history of electing Republican governors who run on fiscal responsibility and reform platforms.

Ciattarelli, a former state legislator and businessman, previously ran for governor in 2021, coming within a narrow margin of defeating Governor Murphy in one of the closest elections the state had seen in decades.

As the campaign enters its final stretch, Ciattarelli’s growing list of bipartisan endorsements and the visible energy at his rallies suggest that the race may be far closer than early polling indicated.

“The people of New Jersey are ready for a change,” Ciattarelli told FOX News.

“Everywhere I go, people tell me they’re ready to get this state back on track.”
