New York Times Columnist Mourns Loss of Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council

Was Iran’s Ali Larijani a reasonable guy who just wanted to get along with the United States and Israel?

Well, let’s check. He used to run the IRGC, and until Israel and the United States took him out today, he was the top security official in Iran, a member of the Supreme Council, and the architect of the strategy that led to Iran striking out at its Gulf neighbors. 

So, no. Larijani was not a reasonable man. He was a murderous bastard who ordered the deaths of tens of thousands of Iranians and who vowed revenge on America.

But you would never know it if you read The New York Times, watched Sky News, or listened to security studies professors, who all vouched for his reasonableness.

It’s bizarre, but the BBC, New York Times, and Sky News are now all claiming that this evil man was a moderate pragmatist with whom we could do business.

There really is no depth to which Pravda and the left will not plumb in order to trash Israel and the United States, at least under Donald Trump. 

None. Soon enough, these ghouls will be praising Iran’s human rights, as some already are. Remember, Iran sat on the UN Human Rights Council.

It was just a few hours ago that Larijani was blustering about how he would lead Iran into taking revenge on everybody, and he has consistently asserted that there would be no negotiations to end the war.

This is the “pragmatist” we should be mourning.

Pravda is basically an information op, with the sole purpose of undermining the war effort. Trump is upending the previous world order and pushing aside the transnationalists, who have been very satisfied with how they were placed until now. 

Arresting Maduro was somehow a violation of international law. Squeezing the Cuban communists is driving them insanely angry, and if Trump and Netanyahu succeed in getting rid of Iran’s odious regime, which the internationalists have been propping up since Obama entered office, it will be a decisive blow to their prestige, and perhaps their power.

That’s how we get prominent politicians, media figures, and academics mourning the loss of a mass murderer. Weeks ago Larijani was ordering the massacre of his own citizens, endorsing the rape of nurses who tried to treat them, and he has been hurling missiles at his neighbors.

As the Basij crumbles, the transnationalists are in a panic. Even I am surprised at how unhappy they are about the imminent demise of the Iranian regime. 

One last thing: the one true thing we learned from these absurd statements is that our media class has been palling around with Iranian thugs.
