Newly Released Internal DOJ Emails Reveal Obsessive Witch Hunt Against Trump [WATCH]

Internal Department of Justice communications obtained by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) show federal prosecutors and FBI agents under the Biden-Harris administration explored possible legal action against President Donald Trump related to his support for a choir composed of January 6 defendants.

The investigation appears to have been initiated in March 2023, after prosecutors circulated a news article from Forbes.

The emails, obtained by Grassley and reviewed by the New York Post, show that senior DOJ official JP Cooney — a deputy special counsel on both the Robert Mueller and Jack Smith investigations — contacted colleagues on March 8, 2023, with a request for further inquiry into Trump’s connection with a recording produced by the J6 Prisoner Choir.

“Can we do some work to nail down Trump’s role in this,” Cooney wrote in an email with the subject line “J6 Prisoner Choir/DJT.”

He attached the Forbes article, which reported that Trump had participated in a recording with the choir at Mar-a-Lago.

The song featured the Pledge of Allegiance and was intended to raise funds for the families of incarcerated defendants who were not charged with assaulting law enforcement.

According to the email thread, Cooney also asked his colleagues to begin examining the financial structure behind the project, including a limited liability company reportedly managed by Ed Henry, one of the organizers of the project.

Cooney suggested reaching out to DOJ colleagues and noted that another official, Ahmed Baset, had been asked to preserve related documents.

Two days later, on March 10, 2023, FBI agent Walter Giardina responded that he and a colleague were working on the matter and would provide findings later that day.

“Esther and I are working on this today,” Giardina wrote.

“We’re going to put together our findings at 2 and get something to you shortly after that.”

Giardina, who was previously involved in several high-profile investigations including Crossfire Hurricane, the Mueller probe, and the case against Peter Navarro, has faced criticism from whistleblowers.

According to disclosures provided to Grassley, Giardina allegedly expressed a willingness to pursue investigations into Trump even if it required “false predication.”

“These internal communications show the Biden DOJ and FBI were looking for ways to pursue President Trump based on media coverage,” Grassley told the Post.

“Instead of focusing on DOJ and FBI’s core law enforcement responsibilities, partisan prosecutors and agents were surfing the web to find any shred of information they could use to spin another baseless case against Trump. Their actions are a disservice to Americans, who pay their salaries and depend on DOJ and FBI to keep them safe.”

The emails have raised new questions about the scope and intent of the DOJ’s ongoing investigations into Trump and whether political motivations have influenced prosecutorial decisions.

According to previous disclosures, Patel provided Grassley with an FBI report alleging that the Chinese government attempted to interfere in the 2020 election by producing fraudulent driver’s licenses.

That report was later recalled and not pursued further by federal authorities.
