Nicki Minaj, the Grammy-nominated rapper, has been sued for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress by Brandon Garrett, who claims to be her former manager.

The lawsuit stems from an alleged backstage incident during Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 World Tour in April 2024, following a performance at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena.

Garrett filed the lawsuit on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court through his attorney, Thomas Feher.

In the complaint, Garrett alleges that Minaj, 42, struck him during a confrontation in her dressing room over a task he delegated to another employee.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Garrett claims he was summoned to Minaj’s dressing room after he had sent another staff member, Luke Montgomery, to pick up her prescription because he was occupied with other tasks at the venue.

Garrett alleges that Minaj became “visibly upset,” yelling at him, “Are you f***ing crazy having him pick up my prescription?”

The lawsuit states that Minaj escalated the situation, shouting: “You have lost your fing mind and if my husband was here, he would knock out your fing teeth. You’re a dead man walking. You just f***ed up your whole life and you will never be anyone. I’ll make sure of it.”

Garrett further claims that Minaj struck him on the right side of his face, causing his head to swing backward and his hat to fall off.

He also alleges that she hit him on the wrist, causing him to drop documents he was holding.

Security personnel then intervened, and Minaj allegedly ordered Garrett to leave the room.

Fearing for his safety, Garrett claims he locked himself in a bathroom inside the venue for hours before calling his partner to explain what had occurred.

He states that his wrist was throbbing, and his face was sore, but he remained in the restroom out of fear.

Garrett alleges that he was later denied access to the tour bus and was left in Detroit.

He flew back to Chicago the following day and reportedly stayed in his hotel for several days, feeling “fearful and traumatized.”

He claims to have filed a police report with Chicago authorities before returning to Detroit to file a formal report there as well.

In response to the lawsuit, Minaj’s lawyer, Judd Burstein, denied the allegations in a statement to DailyMail.com, calling the claims “false and frivolous.”

Burstein also questioned Garrett’s characterization as a “former manager,” suggesting instead that he was an “ex-assistant.”

“At this time, no complaint has been served upon Mrs. Petty, and therefore, we are unaware of the specific allegations,” Burstein said.

“However, if the lawsuit is as reported by TMZ, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident that the matter brought by this ex-assistant will be resolved swiftly in Mrs. Petty’s favor.”

The Pink Friday 2 World Tour, which supported Minaj’s 2023 album of the same name, ran from March to October 2024, featuring 79 performances.

Despite its success, reports surfaced in June 2024 that the second leg of the tour faced ticket sales challenges.

Minaj has been involved in other legal battles recently. In August 2024, she won a lawsuit against gossip blogger Marley Green, also known as Nosey Heaux, who had falsely accused Minaj of drug use.

The settlement required Green to retract her claims and refrain from making similar allegations in the future.

That same month, a fan filed a $5 million slander lawsuit against Minaj, citing incidents dating back to 2017 and 2020.

As the legal proceedings with Garrett unfold, Minaj’s legal team remains firm in their stance that the allegations are baseless.
