NJ Dem Governor Housing Undocumented Migrant Dares Feds To Come ‘Try to Get Her’ [WATCH]

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy revealed that he is personally housing an immigrant at his residence, challenging federal authorities to take action.

Murphy made the admission during an interview over the weekend with Blue Wave New Jersey, a progressive grassroots organization.

During the discussion, Murphy described a situation involving an individual whose immigration status remains unresolved.

“Tammy [Murphy] and I were talking about – I don’t want to get into too much detail, but there is someone in our broader universe whose immigration status is not yet at the point that they are trying to get it to. And we said, you know what? Let’s have her live at our house above our garage,” Murphy stated.

The governor followed up with a comment that appeared to directly challenge federal immigration enforcement efforts.

“And good luck to the feds coming in to try to get her,” he added.

Murphy did not specify whether the person in question is in the country illegally.

Murphy’s remarks come at a time when U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been conducting enforcement operations within the state.

One of the most notable recent actions took place in Newark in late January.

Following that operation, Murphy’s office responded with a statement addressing concerns about immigration enforcement.

“Public trust is essential to public safety. Our office has requested more information from the Trump Administration about the recent immigration enforcement action in Newark so we have a clear understanding of the facts of this case,” a spokesperson for Murphy told PIX11 at the time.

The Trump administration has maintained a firm stance on immigration enforcement, with officials emphasizing the importance of upholding federal immigration laws.

In December, Trump border czar Tom Homan addressed the issue of knowingly harboring individuals who are in the country illegally.

“Knowingly harboring and concealing an illegal immigrant from ICE is a violation of the law,” Homan told Fox News.

Murphy’s admission is likely to draw further scrutiny from federal authorities, particularly as immigration enforcement efforts continue across the country.

It remains unclear whether ICE or other federal agencies will take action in response to Murphy’s statements.
