No Emmy Award for Hillary Clinton but the Elitists Still Applaud Her Whining About 2016 Loss
Hillary Clinton made an appearance at the Tony Awards Sunday and the elites rewarded her with a standing ovation.
Her appearance at the ceremony is described as a “surprise” appearance in the media but, c’mon. Hillary is a producer of a show currently running on Broadway. It was not a surprise that she showed up to get some press attention. It is not at all unusual for her to show up at awards ceremonies.
The audience liked it. These are her people. For all those people who complain that Donald Trump is still holding a grudge about his loss in 2020 and talking about it in his campaign speeches, Hillary Clinton puts him to shame. She is still whining about her 2016 loss to her former friend, Donald Trump. What do you think is worse for her – that Trump used to be a Democrat in New York and socialized in the same circles with her or that she lost to an outsider, a political newbie?
The ceremony took place at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. She was there to introduce a performance from the musical Suffs. Hillary is a producer of the show about the movement to give women the right to vote. She attempted a joke as she began, but it was a little awkward since she recently blamed women voters for her loss in 2016. ‘I have stood on a lot of stages, but this is very special,’ Clinton said. ‘I know a little bit about how hard it is to make change.’ Many who gave her a standing ovation, laughed over her political reference.
Hillary is still wearing caftans to formal occasions. You may remember that she wore one to the state dinner at the White House that honored Prime Minister Modi of India. She wore one to the Tonys, too.

I dunno. If you were spending the money on a Broadway show ticket, would a musical about women suffragettes be something that would be appealing? I’d go for a more traditional musical for pure entertainment. YMMV. I’ve never seen “Hamilton.”
‘And of course, it is about some American originals: the suffragists who fought so valiantly for so long to give women in our country the right to vote.’
No appearance by Hillary Clinton is complete without some nagging about voting.
‘It’s almost impossible to think about what a challenge that was, but now it’s an election year, and we need to be reminded about how important it is to vote, so please welcome the company of Suffs!’
“Suffs: The Musical” (I don’t like that name) is still running on Broadway. It won Tonys for Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score. It did not win in the Best Musical category, which would have meant Hillary would become a Tony winner.
Clinton won an Emmy Award in 2023 and a Grammy Award in 1997. This was her first Tony nomination.
As expected, there was plenty of criticism of Hillary.
