OANN Reportedly Fires Producer After He Shared Cartoon Comparing Jews To Scheming Cockroaches

One America News Network fired “The Matt Gaetz Show” producer Vish Burra on Monday after he posted an AI-made cartoon that depicted Jews as scheming cockroaches and labeled them “vermin,” according to TheWrap.

Network executives deemed the posts “highly offensive” and “antisemitic,” the outlet reported. The cartoon, shared late last week and later deleted, helped trigger internal blowback and public condemnation of Burra, who worked as a booker and scriptwriter on the program. “I will expose the vermin in the venomous coalition and their transgressions against MAGA, America First, and Kevin Roberts at the Heritage Foundation,” Burra wrote on X alongside the cartoon before deleting it, the outlet reported.

Gaetz attempted to tamp down the controversy Saturday, writing on X: “My producer Vish Burra posted something dumb this week. He knew it was dumb and quickly deleted it. I too have posted dumb things on social media without thinking – some I’ve deleted, some I haven’t. And I’ve had to pay some consequences along the way. Vish will too. I’m not the internet hall monitor of any of my coworkers (thankfully.).”

“I can say on the Matt Gaetz Show we do not believe in applying bigotry to any group of people, no matter where they live or how they worship,” he added.

OANN anchor Stella Escobedo, who is Jewish, publicly pressed Gaetz on X about multiple Burra posts targeting Jews in recent months, saying she was “very hurt, disappointed and concerned that someone I work with” would share such content.

Burra’s cartoon showed him entering a “scheming room” marked with a Star of David, with cockroaches scurrying away — imagery critics noted echoed classic Nazi propaganda. TheWrap reported that network leaders reviewed the posts before moving to terminate him Monday.

OAN’s Vish Burra, Matt Gaetz’s scriptwriter and handler, has severely crossed the line now, calling Jews vermin, accusing them of “scheming,” identifying them as cockroaches he’s destroying in the name of “America First” and “America Only.”
