Former Obama campaign manager David Plouffe, who was brought onto the Harris campaign as a senior adviser, appeared to delete his Twitter account after taking a dig at President Joe Biden on Wednesday.
Plouffe’s profile was inaccessible early Thursday after he attributed part of the blame to Vice President’s Kamala Harris’s “devastating loss” to President-elect Donald Trump on the “deep hole” Democrats found themselves in.
“It was a privilege to spend the last 100 days with @KamalaHarris and the amazing staff led by @jomalleydillon who left it all on the field for their country. We dug out of a deep hole but not enough. A devastating loss. Thanks for being in the arena, all of you,” Plouffe posted Wednesday at 2:28 p.m., not too long before Harris delivered her concession speech more than 12 hours after her defeat.

Biden dropped his reelection bid July 21 and endorsed Harris via two social media posts. Biden’s withdraw came following a weeks-long pressure campaign that started after his poor debate performance June 27 against Trump.
Plouffe told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow the night of Biden’s debate that the “concern level is quite high.”
“Biden is behind narrowly right now. He’s the one who has to change the equation here. And the biggest barrier that’s keeping his ceiling too low is concerns about age,” Plouffe said, analyzing the president’s performance.
“Sadly, it really pains me to say this, they’re three years apart. They seemed about thirty years apart tonight,” he added.

High-profile Democrats such as former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries reportedly worked behind the scenes to push Biden to step aside. Harris was crowned the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential nominee without winning a primary.
Plouffe joined the Harris campaign in early August. He was among one of the most notable additions to the vice president’s team, having served as Obama’s 2008 campaign manager and a White House senior adviser in his 2012 term, Politico reported.
Plouffe confidently suggested that Harris could win all seven swing states — Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin — Monday in an appearance on CNN’s “OutFront.”
“And, you know, just a couple hours ago, reviewing all the early vote data, what we’re projecting for Election Day, how we think undecideds are breaking, we have a credible pathway to all seven states tomorrow night to go into Kamala Harris’s column,” Plouffe told CNN host Erin Burnett the eve of Election Day.
Trump won all seven swing states in the 2024 election. Trump also appears to be on track to best his Democrat opponent in the popular vote. The GOP is also expected to win the Senate.
