Three teenagers in Portage, Michigan, attempting to organize a prayer vigil for slain Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, were denied service at a local Office Depot after employees allegedly refused to print their posters, calling them “political propaganda.”

According to video obtained by The Gateway Pundit and provided by Kelly Sackett, who was working with the teenagers to organize the event, the boys had paid in advance for posters to be prepared at the Office Depot located at 6685 Westnedge Avenue in Portage.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin – July 15, 2024: Turning Point USA CEO Charlie Kirk at the Republican National Convention.

When they arrived to pick up their order, they were told by a supervisor and a manager that the posters would not be printed.

In the video, one of the teenagers can be heard explaining: “So, we came in for an order earlier—for—to print a poster for a vigil tonight, for somebody that passed.” A supervisor responds: “Yeah, so we don’t print propaganda.”

As the teenager attempted to clarify that the order was for a vigil, the manager interjected: “It’s propaganda! I’m sorry. We don’t print that here!”

The boys then asked for the names of the employees.

One of them identified himself as the print supervisor, while another identified as a manager.

The manager continued: “So, unfortunately, we do not print—” before being interrupted by the teenager again trying to explain the purpose of the posters.

The teenagers pointed out that they had already paid for the order and attempted to clarify that the posters were intended for a prayer vigil to honor Kirk, who was assassinated Wednesday at Utah Valley University.

“Okay, so you say you don’t print propaganda, but this is for somebody who passed away a couple of [days] ago,” one of them said.

The manager replied: “That’s political propaganda, unfortunately.”

Another teenager pressed further: “What makes it political propaganda?”

The manager responded: “Because it’s political propaganda, and we don’t have to—” before the print supervisor interjected to tell the boys they could return on Monday to speak with the general manager.

“You’re welcome to return,” the supervisor told them.

A receipt provided to media outlets showed that the order had been paid for in advance.

The denial of service left the organizers scrambling to prepare materials for the vigil, which was scheduled for Friday evening in Portage.

The incident comes as vigils and memorials for Kirk are being planned across the country following his assassination.

Kirk, 31, was shot and killed during a campus event in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities have arrested Tyler Robinson, 22, in connection with the killing, which Utah Governor Spencer Cox has described as a political assassination.

Office Depot released a public statement regarding the incident, and said ‘the associate involved is no longer with the organization.’

Community members and those associated with organizing the vigil expressed frustration, arguing that the teenagers had been unfairly denied a service they had already paid for.

The video of the exchange continues to circulate online as organizers move forward with their plans to hold the prayer vigil for Kirk.
