A statewide protest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement unfolded across Minneapolis, drawing large crowds despite sub-zero temperatures and resulting in more than 100 arrests at the Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport, according to reporting from Fox News correspondent Garrett Tenney.

Tenney reported that demonstrations were not confined to a single location but occurred throughout the city as part of what organizers described as a coordinated statewide shutdown.

The largest gathering took place in downtown Minneapolis, where thousands of protesters marched for hours in frigid conditions.

“This was protest all over the city yesterday,” Tenney said.

“This was all part of what activists were calling a statewide shutdown to protest ICE and this March and rally they had downtown was just massive, 1000s of people that were out here marching and bundled up in sub zero temperatures. They were out here marching for a couple of hours demanding that ICE leave the city.”

According to Tenney, the downtown march represented only one component of the broader protest effort.

Demonstrations also extended to critical infrastructure locations, including the Minneapolis–St. Paul airport, where law enforcement responded to organized actions that disrupted access points.

“Over at the airport, more than 100 people were arrested in a demonstration organized by clergy blocking traffic and one of the entrances to the airport to protest deportation flights,” Tenney said.

He noted that while the airport demonstration resulted in a large number of arrests, officials indicated that those actions remained peaceful in nature.

The arrests occurred as demonstrators blocked traffic and restricted access to an airport entrance as part of their protest against deportation flights.

Tenney’s report also described a separate incident at the federal Whipple building, where officials said a group of agitators attempted to interfere with federal operations.

According to authorities cited in the report, the group arrived equipped with riot gear and materials intended to obstruct access.

“While those protests stayed peaceful, over at the federal Whipple building, officials say a group of agitators showed up with a U haul filled with shields in riot gear to try and block agents from being able to head out on operations,” Tenney said.

He added that law enforcement issued multiple warnings to the group after they positioned themselves in the roadway outside the federal facility. Despite those warnings, the individuals continued to obstruct access.

“They refused repeated warnings to get out of the road,” Tenney said.
