MSNBC found two teenagers willing to go on air and push back against President Donald Trump’s executive order defending women’s sports.
Guest host Paola Ramos fawned over the two boys—who identify as girls—for their “courage” in opposing Trump’s efforts to keep men out of female athletics.
As reported by The Daily Caller, Trump’s executive order, signed on February 5, directs federal agencies to strip funding from schools that fail to ensure fair competition for female athletes.

The policy protects both all-female athletic opportunities and the right to single-sex locker rooms—something that should be common sense but is apparently controversial in today’s political climate.
Attorney Chris Erchull, who represents the two teens in their lawsuit against the order, tried to argue that they are no different from biological girls on the field.
“Transgender girls play sports for the same reasons as any other students. Sports are essential to education. For so many young people, sports is where they develop life skills like leadership, teamwork, self-discipline, confidence.”
Teenagers Parker Tirell and Iris Turmelle, who previously challenged New Hampshire’s protections for girls’ sports, spoke with Ramos about their motivation for suing Trump.
“It pretty much means the world to me,” Tirell said. “I’ve been playing [soccer] for 12 years. It’s just really important.”
“The motivation behind it was just me wanting to continue to do one of the things that I love most in my life,” Tirell added.
Trump has been firm on this issue throughout his 2024 campaign, making it clear that biological men should not be allowed to compete in women’s sports. At an October 16 town hall, he plainly stated, I’d “just ban it.”
Turmelle, meanwhile, whined that Trump’s order could force him to play sports against other boys—just as nature intended. “I would not be able to try out for tennis, for track and field,” he said. “I would not be able to try new things. I would be stuck doing things that I might necessarily not like the next year.”

The executive order is clear: sports teams should be based on biological sex, not personal feelings. That’s a standard most Americans understand, even if MSNBC’s audience doesn’t.
Erchull went further, accusing Trump of a “sustained attack” on transgender individuals. “The current administration has launched a targeted and sustained attack aimed at making it impossible for transgender people to function in society,” he claimed, lumping in employment, housing, and education.
Ramos, of course, didn’t challenge any of these talking points. Instead, she lavished praise on the two teenagers, telling them, “What you’re doing is extremely courageous, there’s a lot of other trans girls that are observing what you both are doing and that are paying attention.”
The debate over men in women’s sports has been heating up ever since Lia Thomas, a biological male, won the women’s 500-yard freestyle at the 2022 NCAA championships.
Since then, concerns about fairness and safety have only grown. Trump’s executive order even cites how different sports governing bodies have various policies—some requiring lowered testosterone levels, others simply taking someone’s word that they “identify” as female. The order states:
“These policies are unfair to female athletes and do not protect female safety.”
Recent incidents have underscored these risks. Multiple college teams forfeited games against San Jose State University’s women’s volleyball team in 2024 because it included a male athlete. In October, that same player spiked a volleyball into the face of a San Diego State University opponent.
Similar dangers have been seen in high school sports as well. North Carolina volleyball player Payton McNabb suffered a career-ending concussion in 2022 when a male opponent’s spike hit her directly in the face. She later testified before lawmakers about her ongoing medical struggles.
Trump isn’t stopping at sports. On January 28, he signed an executive order barring child sex-change procedures, calling them “a stain on our Nation’s history.”

“Countless children soon regret that they have been mutilated and begin to grasp the horrifying tragedy that they will never be able to conceive children of their own or nurture their children through breastfeeding,” Trump wrote, exposing the lifelong medical burdens these procedures impose.
While MSNBC wants to paint Trump as the villain, most Americans see through the spin. Protecting women’s sports isn’t radical—it’s common sense. But in an era where truth is twisted into “hate,” the left is determined to push their agenda at any cost.
