Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy was interrupted for the second time in under a month by a bird while delivering a live report on the White House grounds Monday.
The unexpected moment occurred during a segment on America’s Newsroom as Doocy was reporting on President Donald Trump’s executive order to reopen the former federal penitentiary on Alcatraz Island in California.

Maybe he should put Nancy there? 🤣

As he delivered his report, Doocy suddenly began to move and duck on camera.
Co-host Dana Perino, who previously served as White House press secretary under President George W. Bush, quickly noticed Doocy’s movement during the broadcast.

“Peter, are you dodging birds again?” Perino asked.
“There is a bird! Yes, I am!” Doocy responded, visibly trying to avoid the bird’s path. “I don’t know, I need to, like, shave my head! What’s going on?”
Perino quipped, “It’s because you’re so tall and cute,” prompting Doocy to reply, “Send the birds to Alcatraz!”
Monday’s incident is the second time in recent weeks that Doocy has been disrupted by a bird while reporting from outside the White House.
On April 11, during a live segment on Fox and Friends covering President Trump’s trade tariffs on China and a separate U.S.-Mexico water dispute, Doocy appeared to be struck by a pigeon.
“It landed on my head!” he exclaimed at the time.
Following that April incident, Doocy reported that Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum’s office had reached out with a promise to investigate the matter.
“A couple of minutes ago, I got a text about that from the Interior Secretary’s team and they say that they’ve deployed all assets from the park service and fish and wildlife to figure out what’s going on,” Doocy said during a follow-up segment with Perino and guest host Martha MacCallum later that morning.
Interior Department press secretary Charlotte Taylor added some levity to the situation, suggesting to the Daily Caller News Foundation that the bird encounters may not be coincidental.
“You have to wonder if other networks are sending the birds,” she said.
The White House did not provide a comment when asked by the Daily Caller News Foundation about the latest bird incident.
Doocy has served as a Fox News White House correspondent since 2021 and is known for his frequent exchanges with administration officials during press briefings.
Despite the unusual interruptions, Doocy has continued reporting without pause.
The two recent bird encounters have drawn wide attention on social media and in conservative media circles, adding an unexpected wrinkle to the day-to-day reporting from the White House press corps.
As of now, there has been no official word from federal agencies or wildlife authorities on the identity or origin of the birds involved in either incident.
