Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown reported that his car was stolen late Sunday night, prompting a swift response from both the athlete and local authorities.
By Monday afternoon, Brown confirmed the vehicle had been recovered and the suspect located.
The incident began when Brown, a Super Bowl champion and prominent member of the Eagles, posted to X early Monday morning, addressing the unknown individual responsible for stealing his vehicle.

The post, which was later deleted, read: “Dear Philly—To whoever stole my car last night, I’ll make a deal with you. Bring back my car and I won’t press charges, or when I find you today, it’s going to be what it’s going to be. Take it or leave it my guy.”

Brown followed up with a video message on his Instagram Story, in which he offered the same ultimatum.
“Come on Philly, you stole my whip last night,” Brown said.
“I’ll make a deal with you bro, just bring the whip back bro, I won’t press charges … you’re smooth with it, though, you pulled up at 3:42, you got up out of there at 3:45. You’re fast on your feet, real fast, but I’ll show you how fast I am on my feet … you might as well pull back up and drop [the car] off bro. We know where you’re at right now.”

By midday, Brown posted an update confirming the car had been recovered and the situation was no longer ongoing.
“We already got the whip,” Brown said in a follow-up video.
“See, I told you to just turn the car back in … now you gotta deal with the consequences man.”

It is currently unclear whether the car in question was Brown’s widely-discussed Honda Accord — a vehicle he drove to an Eagles playoff game earlier this year, sparking headlines due to its modest nature in contrast to his $96 million NFL contract.
Brown made that appearance in January, and the car choice drew public attention, given its contrast to the luxury vehicles typically driven by professional athletes.

No official details have been released about the type of vehicle stolen, or whether the theft was a targeted act or a random crime.
Law enforcement has not yet provided additional public comment regarding the arrest or charges, and the identity of the suspect has not been made available.
Philadelphia, which has dealt with increased reports of vehicle thefts over the past year, continues to face scrutiny for rising property crimes.
Brown’s situation is the latest in a series of high-profile incidents involving notable public figures in the city.
Adding a lighter note to the recovery, Brown shared that his son had seen him speaking with police Monday morning and connected it to the animated children’s show Paw Patrol.
“Everybody’s got jokes this morning, huh?” Brown said. “Now the joke’s on you.”
Brown is entering another season as a key part of the Eagles offense.
