A Planned Parenthood clinic in Sacramento, California, has begun offering cosmetic procedures such as Botox injections and lip fillers as the organization seeks additional revenue after federal funding reductions, as reported by The New York Post.
The services are being provided through Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, which operates clinics throughout California and Nevada.
The Sacramento location now offers Botox, dermal fillers, GLP-1 weight-loss medications, and nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, for anxiety and pain management.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement
The expansion comes after federal funding to Planned Parenthood was reduced by $100 million under legislation signed by President Donald Trump.
Dr. Laura Dalton, chief medical officer for Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, said the new offerings represent an effort to broaden the clinic’s services during a financial challenge.

“We’re not your mom’s Planned Parenthood,” Dalton told KCRA while discussing the new direction.
Dalton said the organization decided to introduce additional services outside its traditional medical offerings in order to generate more revenue.
Outside of abortion services and other reproductive healthcare, the Sacramento location now provides cosmetic treatments that are typically associated with med-spas or dermatology clinics.
Dalton said the changes reflect the organization’s response to the financial pressure created by the funding reduction.
“We are resilient and innovative, and I like to say that when faced with a crisis, our doors did not close. They opened wider,” Dalton said.
The clinic is also offering GLP-1 medications used for weight loss and nitrous oxide to assist patients dealing with anxiety or pain during procedures.
State funding has also played a role in helping the organization address the financial gap. Earlier this month, California Gov. Gavin Newsom provided Planned Parenthood Mar Monte with $90 million, which Dalton said helped offset much of the lost federal funding.
According to Dalton, the newly introduced services will help supplement the organization’s budget further.
She said the procedures will help the organization “backfill” funding for visits that were not reimbursed “in the Sexual and Reproductive Health program.”
Some patients have expressed support for the new offerings.
One patient told KCRA that she planned to receive Botox treatments regardless of where the procedure was performed and saw the Planned Parenthood location as an opportunity to support the organization.
“I am personally interested in receiving Botox now and again, and I’d be going somewhere to do that anyway. The fact that I now get to do that Planned Parenthood and am supporting the effort to offset the devastating budget cuts they’ve experienced,” the patient said.
Dalton said patients who were already considering cosmetic procedures may choose the clinic for that reason.
“If you were going to get this service anyways and you want to support Planned Parenthood, why not do it together?” Dalton said.
While the cosmetic procedures are currently being offered at the Sacramento location, the organization has indicated it intends to expand the services to additional clinics.
Planned Parenthood Mar Monte operates approximately 30 clinics across the region, and the organization plans to introduce the cosmetic treatments at more locations.
The Botox injections offered at the clinic are also priced lower than those commonly found at medical spas, according to reports.
Despite the addition of new services, the Sacramento clinic continues to face opposition from anti-abortion activists.
Protesters were seen outside a Planned Parenthood facility on Sacramento’s B Street while patients entered the building for appointments.
