The Wisconsin State Capitol Police Department released footage showing a shirtless man allegedly trying to enter a local lawmaker’s home on July 21, according to ABC 12.
In the surveillance video, the unidentified man can be seen attempting to open the door of state Democratic Rep. Priscilla Prados’ home, according to ABC 12. He reportedly walked around Prado’s property for some time when he was unable to get inside and eventually left the area. Prado, who was recently elected last year, released a statement the following day regarding the incident on X, saying that she was “grateful no one was injured” and asked for privacy.
“This has been a deeply unsettling experience, and I appreciate the influx of concern,” Prado wrote in the post.

Police described the suspect as approximately 6 feet tall, weighing around 200 pounds and likely between the ages of 40 and 50, according to ABC 12. Mark Harrel, one of Prados’ neighbors, stated in an interview that he felt she may have been targeted because of her position as an elected official.
“It’s part of the job how I look at it nowadays. You gotta look after yourself and you’ve gotta be vigilant, you’ve gotta be aware of what’s going on around you,” Harrell told ABC 12.
In June, increased security measures such as bag checks and metal detectors were temporarily put in place at the Wisconsin State Capitol after a gunman killed two Minnesota lawmakers and reportedly planned to target several Wisconsin elected officials as well, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
The Wisconsin State Capitol Police Department did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller’s request for comment.
