Minneapolis police and emergency responders urgently requested assistance to deal with a rapidly escalating and hostile crowd following the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent, according to newly released 911 transcripts and incident reports.
As The New York Post reported, the documents, released late Thursday and obtained by the New York Times, provide new details about the chaotic scene that unfolded in the minutes and hours after the Jan. 7 shooting in Minneapolis.
The records show law enforcement and fire personnel struggling to maintain order as protesters gathered around federal agents and first responders.

At 9:47 a.m., just minutes after paramedics arrived and began treating Good, a 37-year-old anti-ICE protester, one incident report stated, “Need crowd control and area blocked off.”
Three minutes later, another report warned, “Crowd getting hostile.”

By 10:07 a.m., authorities were requesting that federal officials leave the area altogether. “Contact who is in charge of feds and have them leave scene,” one report stated.
Despite those efforts, reports soon indicated the situation was worsening. Roughly an hour later, additional communications warned that federal agents were “being surrounded” by protesters.
According to the records, the tense situation did not fully de-escalate until approximately 11:30 a.m., when all ICE agents had left the scene.
At the same time, 911 dispatchers were inundated with calls from witnesses describing the moments leading up to the shooting. The transcripts capture a range of frantic and sometimes conflicting accounts.
“There’s 15 ICE agents, and they shot her, like, because she wouldn’t open her car door,” one caller told a dispatcher.
Another caller said, “I witnessed it,” adding that Good, who was bleeding heavily, tried to drive away, but crashed into the nearest vehicle that was parked.”
Other callers pleaded for immediate medical assistance. “Send an ambulance, please. Ambulance, please,” one caller begged. A dispatcher later reassured another caller that “lots of help” was already on the way.
According to an incident report, when emergency medical services arrived, they found Good unresponsive inside her vehicle with blood on her face and torso.
First responders documented multiple gunshot wounds, including two on the right side of her chest, one on her left forearm, and another severe wound on the left side of her head with “protruding tissue,” with blood coming from her left ear.
The newly released records follow the circulation of graphic video footage showing the moments before and after the shooting.
Authorities said Good had been accused of blocking a street and impeding a federal immigration enforcement operation. During the confrontation, she attempted to flee the scene in her SUV.
Federal officials said Good’s vehicle clipped ICE agent Jonathan Ross during the standoff. Ross then fired multiple shots through the windshield and an open window of the SUV, according to federal authorities.
The Department of Homeland Security has maintained that Ross opened fire in self-defense. Federal officials have said the agent faced an immediate threat after being struck by the vehicle.
The release of the transcripts and reports adds to ongoing scrutiny of the incident, which has fueled protests and political debate over immigration enforcement in Minneapolis and beyond.
Authorities have not announced any changes to the federal investigation, and officials said the review of the shooting remains ongoing.
