Tom Homan, former Acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), warned that more terrorist attacks are likely imminent, citing recent incidents in Las Vegas and New Orleans involving U.S. citizens with ties to ISIS and a history of foreign travel.
Homan emphasized the significant threat posed by “gotaways” at the southern border, stressing that over 2 million individuals, including many from countries that support terrorism, have bypassed U.S. border controls.
Homan further noted that the Trump administration had seen a dramatic increase in arrests of individuals on the terrorist watchlist compared to previous administrations.

In a segment on Fox News, Tammy Bruce asked Homan, “What do you think this says? Is this going to be a normal occurrence, or is this just the burst of a couple of rogue terrorists or coincidences? What’s your take so far today?”
Homan responded, “No, more is coming. I think both these incidents, Las Vegas and New Orleans, they’re both going to be U.S. citizens. They’re both going to have recent foreign travel. They’re both around a suicide mission. Neither one thought they’re going to go home. And I think you’re going to see ISIS, ISIS affiliation on both of them.”
Homan continued, pointing out a critical oversight by the current administration, saying, “But you know, the president bragged today. You know, this is U.S. citizen, America. He shouldn’t hang his hat on that, because let’s remember, just a couple months ago, we arrested eight people from Tajikistan in New York City, Philadelphia, and LA. They were planning a terrorist-type event, a Russian-type terrorist event here in the United States. Luckily, the intel community called them before they did it.”
Homan also highlighted the alarming security risks at the U.S.-Mexico border, stating, “And let’s remember, we got over 2 million gotaways. Known gotaways on our southern border. Border Patrol arrested people from 180 countries. Many of the countries sponsored terror.”
He emphasized the dangerous consequences of these gaps in border security, noting, “They’ve arrested over 300 people on the terrorist watchlist under Trump, we had 14.”
Addressing the broader implications of the terrorist threat, Homan remarked, “So I want to hang his hat on these attacks being done by U.S. citizens. It’s coming. Even Christopher Wray, who had very little respect, and it says the southern border is the biggest national security vulnerability he’s ever seen.”

The conversation underscored the growing concern over the vulnerability of U.S. borders and the increasing presence of terrorist threats, particularly those tied to ISIS, entering the country through weak border security measures.
Homan’s remarks reflect a strong warning that the U.S. is facing serious national security challenges, with the southern border as a critical point of entry for potential terrorists.
