Former President Joe Biden did his part to advance the disaster that is government waste. The early months of President Donald Trump’s second term were spent quantifying the precise cost and scope of that waste.
In sum: Billions of dollars flushed towards silly, wasteful and, in some cases, downright evil ends. With a diagnosis in hand, the next step for Republican leaders should be procuring a remedy for our spending ills. They’ve been handed an obvious, if incomplete, curative in the form of Trump’s $9.4 billion rescissions proposal. They may squander it in spectacular fashion.
