Pro-Hamas and Iran-aligned groups publicly praised the fatal shooting of two Israeli Embassy staff members outside the Capital Jewish Museum, referring to the attack as “heroic” and claiming it was justified retaliation for Israel’s military operations in Gaza, as reported by The New York Post.
The victims, Yaron Lischinsky, 28, and Sarah Milgrim, 26, were gunned down Wednesday night while leaving an event focused on promoting humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Both had worked on initiatives supporting peace efforts between Israelis and Palestinians and were reportedly engaged to be married.
The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Elias Rodriguez of Chicago, allegedly opened fire on the pair while shouting “Free, free Palestine,” according to eyewitnesses.

Police are investigating whether Rodriguez posted an anti-Israel manifesto online before the shooting. Authorities have not yet confirmed the motive publicly but are examining links to pro-Hamas propaganda.
Gaza Now, a prominent pro-Hamas media channel, celebrated the murders in a statement posted to Telegram. The group referred to Rodriguez as someone who “boldly confronts the killers” and claimed the shooting was an act of “courage” and “justice.”
The platform praised him for “raising the banner of justice in the face of injustice.”
The Palestinian Mujahideen Movement, an armed faction known to have held Israeli hostages including Shiri Bibas and her two children, also praised the murders.
The group said the shooting reflected “growing global anger” toward Israel and described the attack as part of a broader “heroic campaign” against the Jewish state.
Several groups affiliated with Iran-backed militias in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon echoed similar sentiments. Al-Suri Al-Muhajir, a Syria-based outlet, labeled Rodriguez’s actions as “revenge for the people of Gaza.”
Jihadi cleric Abu Yahya Al-Shami encouraged others to follow the example, according to translations provided by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
The shooting occurred amid escalating regional tensions, following Israel’s ground campaign across Gaza and growing backlash from international governments.

Britain, France, and Canada have issued warnings and threats of sanctions over humanitarian access and military operations in the region.
Rodriguez is in custody and facing charges in connection to the double homicide. The FBI is assisting local authorities in the investigation, including reviewing possible online activity linked to extremist rhetoric.
The attack has drawn concern over escalating antisemitic violence and the public glorification of terrorism by foreign-aligned propaganda groups operating across digital platforms.
